@katsubou :
Nozomi asked, “ why are you helping me? ”
「 ☄️ 」 — Tone and gaze filled with apprehension, gold and brown eyes meeting the stranger’s in turn despite the clear gap in height between them. “Because it’s my job.” She replies in a quieted voice
Granted she was off the clock and heading home, but she couldn’t ignore the fact this woman was being trailed by someone. She wouldn’t be able to sleep once she got home knowing she possibly ignored a serious issue.
“Let me walk you to a more populated area at least… While the city is praised for it’s low crime rate, it’s not non-existent unfortunately.”
Nozomi was not quite used to the ever-bustling life of Shibuya being more accustomed to the consistent, mundane, and ultimately quiet life of her town origins in the west side of the country’s capital. Time came for her to finally enter a new phase of her life-- university, and where else would she attend but in any of the prestigious colleges in the heart of the capital? Her doctor of a step-father would not have it any other way-- enthusiastic and wily as he was, he did not fail to get his point across that he wanted the best education for his children.
Thinking about being bearing responsibilities beyond her home was what she passed her night with while she aimlessly wandered the park beyond her school-sponsored dormitory. Hands were stuffed in the pockets of her bomber jacket, fingers wrapped around a small umbrella sticking out from one of the pockets lest the tempest of the rainy season befell her at any moment.
She had herself a little more preoccupied thanks for the most part to the melancholic melodies that fiddled from her earphone’s speakers. The downside though was her failure to heed the presence of a suspicious individual trailing her some meters away.
When the enigmatic and towering woman quickly approached and closed the distance between themselves, Nozomi felt herself jump and instinctively tense, fingers tenaciously gripped on the handle of her little umbrella while violet eyes warily glared at the unmatched hues of the other woman.
“Your job?” Nozomi inquired skeptically, but it did not take long for her to realize what the tall woman meant. She was always warned to be vigilant for ne’er-do-wells the deeper into the capital she went. “Someone’s behind us, isn’t there?” She followed, hushed and defensive in her tone.
