Sluge vs. Katsuki Rant
This is just my thoughts on this post I saw just now. I know no one asked for them but I wanted to write them down somewhere and I thought here would be the best platform.
I don’t think this is really talked about a lot or represented enough in the show. I mean he was still in MIDDLE SCHOOL when this happened. And he was surrounded by hero’s, all who couldn’t really do anything because there quirks didn’t work well against the villain and then he has Midoriya (Deku) who is QUIRKLESS trying to help him.
Ok but think of this. What if Katsuki didn’t actually know those hero’s quirks well enough (like midoriya) so he couldn’t know that there quirks wouldn’t be useful in a fight against sludge. So he can see these hero’s standing there watching him struggle and suffer and they’re not doing anything. What do you think that would do to him mentally?
And when the hero did react they reacted to when Midoriya was about to be killed. They said “save the boy! That thing will kill him!” Which is understandable I mean they didnt see him use a quirk they can assume he’s quirkiness but I mean this sludge villain is literally drowning katsuki.
If im not mistaken the villain is inside of his mouth therefor probably going like down his throat (sounds gross I know) and his nose is also clearly being covered. He can't breathe. He only gets the chance to when the villain flinches because it got stabbed in the eye by one of Midoriyas books.
But thats not even the end of it. And by it I mean all the shit this poor guy has gone through. So this was in middle school, we all know katsuki being katsuki he didnt go to therapy, he didnt talk to anyone, he's to proud to do that and we all know it.
So then he goes to UA and he gets in which is great things are looking up. (Now everything I say might not be in order and I might not have put EVERYTHING that happens to him, but yeah). Now they've gone through the sports festival and now they're going to U.S.J for specialized rescue training. And then here they get attacked by the League of villains (LOV) now obviously all students where attacked it wasn't just one or the other.
But it’s still dramatic non the less. After this they eventually go to the forest training camp, Where the LOV attacks them again. This time they are there to get one of the children. And of course that child is Katsuki, of course. He’s strong willed, self assured, “im better than you” type, guy. The league thinks he’d be a perfect addition.
And this poor kid gets freaking kidnapped. He gets kidnapped by people who can kill him with just one touch or one flick of the wrist. And there saying “Hey I know we just kidnapped you but you’d make a great addition to the team you know? You have all the attitudes of a villain!”
Then All might and other hero come busting down the door and we’re all like “Yes! This is great! he's saved!” -no he wasn't. The league escaped and they took him with them.
But once again people come to save him, Midoriya and a few others from UA (Iida, Todoroki, Yaoyorozu Kirishima) and they end up being the ones who extract him from the situation. But this, in the end is the reason All Might had to retire. He defeated all for one, with the last bits of one for all in him.
Now we all know katsuki feels guilty about this due to his break down and heart felt confusion while he's trying to fight Midoirya. The thoughts of ‘if I hadn't been kidnaped by villains.’ or ‘if I had been stronger’ swimming in his head. He believes its all his fault all might, the symbol of peace retired. He thinks that all might is just to nice to say anything. He doesn't think its just all might blaming him, no he thinks everyone is.
He admits that these thoughts are always in his head that he always feels like this. and he doesn't know what to do about it. He's scared, wether he says it or not.
He has all these things on his shoulders, all these incidents all these problems. All happening, what within a few months of each other? This is the first time he's opened up to someone about it. And I don't think he opened to anyone else about it.
So I have to say I agree, of course he hasn't mentally healed from the sludge villains attack because he didnt have the time to do so properly.
This is just a further testament to how strong bakugo katsuki truly is.
