how does yuri honestly feel towards viktor and yuuri?

It’s complicated.

The way he feels towards Viktor is far less complicated than the way he feels towards Yuuri.

With Viktor, he definitely used to admire him a lot when he was younger, even to the point of making him promise to choreograph his senior debut. Despite how bratty Yuri can be towards his rinkmates, I think they’re like a family to him, and Viktor was very much like a big brother type. Which is why I think Yuri took him taking off and going to Japan so hard. 

It’s very clear that Yuri’s only blood related family is his grandfather. None of Yuri’s other family members are in the picture, though it’s not really explained why. Either way, he’s not close to them any longer and they’re obviously no longer a part of his life. So I think that he has abandonment issues because of that.

So Viktor up and leaving and forgetting a promise to him hit him harder than it did anyone else. And Yuri decided to try and get Viktor to come back, which failed. Yuri’s typical teenage moodiness is dialed up about 10 notches because of his abandonment issues and his lack of knowledge of unconditional love. It makes him bitter and angry. Viktor inadvertently fed into that. It almost makes me wonder if Yakov knows about Yuri’s issues, and coupled with issues that he might have with Viktor, if that’s the reason he called Viktor selfish.

So Viktor leaving cut Yuri pretty deeply.

And what cut even more, I think, is the fact that Viktor when to coach Yuuri.

Episode 12 was a bit of an eye opener for me. I don’t think Yuri ever truly disliked Yuuri. I think that throughout the season he’s been frustrated and disappointed in him. Episode 12 implies that Yuri has watched Yuuri’s performances for a while and that he sees Yuuri’s potential and doesn’t understand why Yuuri’s not skating to that full potential. And it pisses him off, because I think he admires Yuuri in his own way.

I think a lot of Yuri’s bratty behavior is partly him just being an asshole teen and partly him trying to bait Yuuri into being better, though it never really worked the way he wanted it to. Yuri stopped calling him names like ‘fatso’ and ‘fatty’. pretty early on, but ‘pig’ is still around, though I think that’s Yuri trying to bait Yuuri. Because otherwise he calls him Katsudon like it’s a cute nickname.

And Yuri isn’t cruel to Yuuri all of the time. They actually get along pretty well when Viktor’s not in the mix. They got along during training. Yuuri watched out for Yuri, and Yuri taught Yuuri jumps. And later, Yuri was worried about Yuuri in the free stake, was about to cheer him on when JJ interrupted, remembered Yuuri’s birthday, actively sought him out after a rough day, and even shared some of his grandfather’s katsudon pirozhkis with him because he knew Yuuri was feeling down. Yuri was even super concerned about Yuuri retiring.

Yuri doesn’t hate him. He’s just upset that someone he admires isn’t skating to his full potential

Despite his problems with Yuuri and Viktor, it’s clear that both are still a part of his agape, and I think they’ve become a part of this little family he’s made for himself since his most of his blood one abandoned him. I don’t think he’s quite forgiven Viktor just yet. And whether his little attitude will calm down or be just for show is yet to be seen. 

It’s also funny that these two aren’t the biggest thorns in his side. That would be JJ.
