{Road Trip AU} Damon&Katherine

There wasn't a destination in mind. From Damon's memory, both he and Katherine thrived in sprawling metropolises as well as intimate small towns. Whether they would stir up fondness or trouble in the heads of the residents, well, that was a entirely different story. To be honest, had he had a choice, Damon wouldn't have selected Katherine Pierce to be the second in his impending roadtrip. Long hours locked away in his Camaro might lead to one of their demises, but due to Katherine's newfound fragility, Damon wasn't concerned it would be his. Despite that possibility, the looming threat of attack on the doppelganger's life provided only this remedy: a long vacation protecting Katherine Pierce, a woman he possibly loathed.

Damon shut the door to the trunk of his Camaro with a slam, sealing the abnormally large suitcases inside. If they had anything in common, Damon and Katherine certainly enjoyed the finer things in life. He leaned up against the passenger side of the car, waiting for the Petrova to show herself. "Come on, Miss Katherine," he grumbled. "We have all day, but I'd rather get started." He was itched to get on the road, away from the chaos center that seemed to be Mystic Falls.
