As a child Loki learned to efface himself. He learned quickly that Odin had a hair trigger temper and a severely critical eye.  As a highly adaptable and basically passive creature, Loki formed himself like a chameleon into the background environment of the many spats that Odin endured with Frigga and, to a greater extent, Thor.  The consequences of this are visible even in adulthood.  Loki's body language is always gracefully contained, even when he is fighting, even in the rare instances when he is grandstanding.  

∇ -. old age/aging headcanon

When Loki reaches old age, he and Thor will both be so tired of the endless cycle of warring and reconciliation that they will reconcile for good.  Loki will at last become Thor's most valued royal counselor and they will be virtually co-regents.  Loki will fiercely love Thor's children each of whom will become close with their favorite uncle.  He and Sigyn will live out the remainder of their lives in the Palace of Asgard.  A few thousand years later, shortly after Sigyn has passed away of old age, an ancient Thor will fall very ill.  Loki, notified of his brother being on his deathbed and suffering, will go to Thor, and understand the begging in his brother's eyes.  He will understand Thor's pride will not permit him to give up, but the pain is unbearable.  So Loki, also very very old, will do the honors: he will bring some means to quietly, quickly, and painlessly kill his brother and end his suffering.  Loki will then turn his sword on himself and join Thor. Side by side, always, two halves of one whole, who ascend to Valhalla together. 

♒ - cooking/food headcanon

Loki is a very good chef, and often cooks small meals for himself on the rare occasions that he remembers to eat without reminders from others.  Despite having a refined palate, there is one Midgardian food he enjoys and frequently makes: hot dogs.
