Katy Kat Covergirl Makeup Review So as you can see I'm not wearing any other makeup aside from the lipstick on my lips and the mascara on one eye. Usually I'd be so excited about new matte lipsticks to play with however I was very let down. The lipstick from the Katy Kat collection applies more like a colored lip balm, it doesn't apply evenly at all and you really have to layer it for a somewhat even color (which I still couldn't achieve after 3 coats). This lipstick also doesn't dry down to a matte so it feels like a lip balm the whole time and has a slight sheen/glow as a lip balm does. I love the color of the product, however this formula seems like a huge miss for what they were trying to achieve. And the mascara, while does add some length also has pigment issues and came out rather clumpy, giving me long spindly eyelashes with clumps of blue randomly in there. All in all I generally feel like these products need some work. The lipstick makes a great tinted lip balm and I would buy it as such, but not as a matter lipstick. As for the mascara, I would not use it, there was no real winning charm to it at all. I love covergirl but these two items were a miss for me.
