Review of Katy of Clay
Wow! I'm not sure how to feel about this book. I liked it very much. The story of Katy is very interesting, horrific, and tragic at the same time. It reminded me of a grim fairytale. The horrific and tragic subject of depression and suicide is very graphic and violent in this book. It doesn't shy away at all and can be a trigger for someone sensitive to these subjects. I found myself not wanting to return to the book after putting it down. I confess I was a little taken aback myself and almost DNF this book. However, I continued to read b/c It is so well written and I wanted to know what happens to Katy.
The story is about Katy. She finds out a fact about herself which makes Katy’s life harder. Katy is already addicted to drugs and is suicidal. She is sad and hopeless. Katy feels like there is no hope for her until something happens to make life bearable.
This is the first book I've read by this author. I look forward to reading more by this author in the future. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
