Dragorn in the meadows for @kavdragun
Addicted to these quick 20 mins screencaps redraw
When I started playing WSC, I played Kav's route first and then all the others', and I genuinely could not decide if I was irritated or sympathetic when I really focused on all the little remarks he made about Veleians and Psions. I was caught somewhere between "damn, I feel really bad this guy feels he needs to hide what and who he is" and "You little SHITHEAD". I wondered though, if, say, during the escape from the unstable black hole, Wil wasn't there for some reason, would Kav have stepped in to get them all out and risked revealing himself as Veleian? Or in any other life or death situation the crew might find themselves in, would he out himself to save them? I would like to think he would, but considering it takes another Veleian walking around inadvertently shoveling the ashes of his past down his throat for him to realize he could relax and quit lying to everyone, I'm on the fence about it. 10/10 love him and would beat him on the head with a cartoon hammer
Oh Kav would have stepped up for sure. He might have found a way to do it without revealing himself but honestly before Wil showed up, he was mostly hiding out of habit. So if he'd had to pull Noel aside and say 'hey...um...about this situation....I can fix it.' He would have.
In fact, to some degree, Wil showing up probably put even more pressure on him to hide it. It shifted from "I'm doing this out of habit and there's no real reason to cause a fuss by bringing it up so it's fine as it is. Maybe one day *IF* I stick around I'll like...bring it up to Noel over drinks or something but probably not." to "Holy shit. I cannot say a word. I cannot reveal myself to this other Veleian at all. WHO EVEN ARE THEY. DID I JUST HEAR THE WORD NYMERA!?!?"
So before Wil shows up, he was very much not going to say anything but also very much not stressed about the others finding out. It just wasn't something he intended to mention. After Wil showed up, it was definitely a shift into guarding the secret like a dragon out of wariness.
When you look at his dialogue, he was very plainly hiding stuff about himself - they all knew it and he knew that they knew. So he'd drop all kinds of ridiculous lies that they all knew were lies. He does this even after Wil shows up. And so there was a tiny part of him...that wanted them to know the truth.
SO ALL OF THAT TO SAY. Yes, he'd have saved them for sure even if Wil wasn't there and even if he had to come clean to do it.
And yes, wanting to hit him with a cartoon hammer is appropriate.
