Kaveh Week Day 2: Xianxia

fantasy au idea for Kaveh Week 2026

Fae Prince Kaveh and Human Alhaitham who stumbles into faery territory on accident.

Kaveh is strolling through the forest and finds a beautiful human about to do something silly like eat a faery mushroom and stops him. He's not supposed to reveal himself to humans but he can't help himself. He is drawn to Alhaitham immediately.

Meanwhile Alhaitham thinks he should care more about this strange world he's wandered into but all he can focus on is Kaveh who is the most stunning creature he's ever seen in his life. He's ready to pledge his undying love and loyalty right then.

Kaveh, tentatively, is like "I can help you find your way back home" and Alhaitham's like "No rush." Kaveh brings him back the faery palace with him which probably causes a huge uproar amongst the other fae.

He stays and stays and Kaveh makes sure to get him human food so he's never trapped, but Alhaitham doesn't want to leave. Eventually they get married and Alhaitham probably brings Kaveh to the human world a few times.

Kaveh loves the human world. He doesn't enjoy being a prince and he's fascinated by mortals. He wants to spend more and more time amongst them.

After awhile, Alhaitham starts to visibly age more and Kaveh decides to give up his immortality and live with his husband as a human for the rest of their days.

Or something like that 💖

day 3!!!! i chose the prompt Summer (though i feel like a lot of my entries for this event could go under this - my inspirations were so summery!)

Kaveh and his family go on a little vacation to Mondstadt!

Kaveh leaned against the low stone fence; the sharp edge dug into his hip as he took in the colours bleeding from the horizont. The gentle pinks and purples blended with the yellow, reminding him of his brief adventure with watercolour painting. That otherwordly, slightly translucent feel he'd get on the page was back, now flowing from the half-open flowers swaying in the breeze.

It carried their sweet scent towards him, his nose greedily inhaling the flowery air. It wasn't quite perfume like; it was gentler, more… more like a memory of a long past summer evening. Kaveh sighed quietly as his eyes roamed lazily over the view. The road winded downwards only to end up squished between picturesque windmills and gardens. The white cliffs were a stark backdrop to the village in front of them and Kaveh just knew he could maybe design a perfect little cottage to fit just right against the cliff side, just to the left of the road—

"Daddy!" a small body barrelled straight into his legs. Kaveh huffed in surprise and stumbled a step forward, his hands automatically raching down to steady the sweet weight attached to his knees. "Daddy, why aren't you walking with us anymore? It's booring without you!"

The flight attendant had a kind face, but the stern lines on her forehead left no room for discussion. Kaveh smiled tightly and closed his laptop. Even with the screen hidden, its display was fresh in his mind. Another contest he'd lost; this time it hurt twice as usual. Probably because he put two weeks into his proposal and it'd just been trampled by another generic, run-of-the-mill white concrete block. Now he wasn't sure if he could still afford this trip, even though they'd chosen the dirt cheap Wizzeru as their airline.

starting off strong with Modern AU -> Kaveh and Alhaitham vs a heatwave in Port Ormos. Who will emerge victorious???

Kaveh grabbed the straps of his overloaded backpack and pulled it forward to get some of its weight of his back. Gods, it really was so heavy. Alhaitham might have been right when he grumbled about no one needing three different sets of pencils and four sketchbooks on a weekend trip.

Of course, Kaveh would rather die than admit that Alhaitham was in the right, like, ever, so he grit his teeth and ran a couple steps forward.

"Wait for me!" he called out into the crowd of tourists. Alhaitham's silver hair stood out like a sore thumb in the mass of darker heads, and Kaveh saw him stopping in place. "Sevens, why coouldn't you just give me a minute—"

"What are you doing?"

Kaveh lifted his eyes. It wasn't a monster or a bandit standing inches away from him. It was a… man? At least at first glance he looked like a man, dressed in sensible clothes, though maybe unfit for the slight chill in the air. But then Mehrak crunched down on some fresh grass behind his back and the man turned back nervously.

A quiet gasp wrenched itself free from Kaveh's lips. The man, no, the creature had pointy ears hidden beneath its silver curls and skin tinged with patches of green and brown, almost like a young branch broken off a tree. There was an unnatural grace in its movements, akin to a willow bending in the wind, as it spun back on his heel and went back to staring into Kaveh's face.

"What are you doing?" it asked again with a frown. Kaveh quickly flipped thorugh his options, realised he didn't have any, and cursed his life under his breath.
