I’m starting a “Master Class” series on Kaws pieces and how to spot fakes that you may come across. Part 1. This is an amazing one! This fake was a purchased from StockX, a purchase price of around $7k. This is the first of a couple of posts I’m going to do. First let’s look at the boxes…the one on the right is the fake from StockX, the left is a real one. Notice first the difference in size, and second, notice the difference in color. You can’t really tell from the photo, but there is a certain “sharpness” that is lacking in the bootleg. This is particularly noticeable on the back. There is a lot wrong with the box, but if you don’t know, you won’t know better. Another dead giveaway on the box was the tape used to seal the boxes. Now the 12 year-old authentic one, the tape looks 12 years old. On the bogus box from StockX, like it was taped a month ago. #kaws #fake #pinocchio #kawspinocchio (at Manhattan, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/CdoTJtZJOav/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
