Friendly reminder that continually denying compliments that people give you because you don't feel like you deserve them is not endearing or cute, it's frustrating and it pushes people away
I understand not feeling good enough or deserving enough to take them, I was there too, but fuck's sake, doesn't hating yourself feel so tiring? In fact, I know it does
I have had the urges to say "No, I'm not pretty" and "I'm not as smart as you think I am..." and I have done those things - and I still do those things from time to time, but the more you feed them, the more you say those things, the more you believe them and the more you push away people who care, dissuage them from complimenting you again because they know what the outcome will be - They know they'll have to sit there and fight you for 10 minutes every single time they want to tell you anything about yourself
I get it, I really, really get it, but please for the love of the gods, at some point, you just have to say thank you, even if you dont agree
And with any luck, it'll start making you believe it too
