Shout out to Kayla for once again being the greatest best friend and being so warm and kind that I call her on the phone in my car crying my face off and I feel her there sitting next to me. And then she goes right into playing the newest song she learned and does it at just the right time, and I don't feel dismissed or ignored. Soon we won't have to live so far apart and life will be that much better.

1. Into It. Over It. - Pinky Swear  I know you play acoustic guitar, and this is one of my favorite acoustics!

2. Major League - Need I Remind you  I know you sing too! I bet your voice would suit the parts the girl sings on this perfectly.  I like the electric version best. so imagine it’s that one! haha

3. Let It Happen - Can’t Close My Eyes  Not sure if you’ve heard of this band? but you SHOULD have because of me!  You’re up late, I’m up late, maybe we just can’t close our eyes?

4. Dresden (formerly Be Easy) - Raindance  Again, a band I don’t know if you know about, but you should!  I love this song, and I love the theme of the song.  Maybe you will too!

5. Allison Weiss - Nothing Left  Total switch up from the last song, but I think this might be something you’d want to create?  Could be completely wrong haha, and if you haven’t heard of her either, now you have!  This is my favorite song by her, and it’s a sad, yet joyful closer that you won’t be able to stop singing :)

Year in review: 2012

I got the inspiration from brain-food, who did this last year and again this year. This post is gonna be long and TMI, and is mostly for my own records so I can look back and feel a lot of things, but if you care to read, you are awesome.

January

Started out the new year with very little hair. Had hopes for a job in Belgium that Briana and I looked forward to very very much.  Spent a lot of time at the beach, and was on screen for about 5 seconds on the Craig Ferguson show. Got my lemon tree tattoo finished.

February

Spent a lot of time on top of mountains in LA. Watch a sunrise with friends after staying up all night having the most beautiful conversation. Had friends over a ton, and cooked dinner and baked cream puffs. Hung my hammock up in a park, spent time alone at the beach. Spent Valentine's day at Chili's with my roommates. 

March

Spent a LOT more time at the beach. Met Sam, and we got to be in the audience on the Ellen show & in the same room as Justin Bieber (he's tiny). Briana, Kayla, and I drove to Vegas and were there for a few hours. It was the best few hours. 

April 

Spent Chris's birthday weekend on a rooftop at a cabin near Lake Isabella. Dyed my hair black and got my nose pierced. Photographed Briana learning tai chi from Mark on the beach (enough with the beach already). Made a video of all my friends and I dancing to Call Me Maybe. Got another tattoo. Was loved and felt love from so many people, and felt, for lack of a better word, infinite.

May

Saw Margot & The Nuclear So & So's (so fucking incredible) with Kayla & Nolly. We stood touching the stage and their band manager (I swear it was her, she was WITH the band looking official) said she liked my hair. Went to Long Beach Pride and got the worst sunburn i've ever gotten. Had one silly day after another with my roommates, that I now miss very much.

June

Long boarded for I think the first time with Briana. Went to Chicago. Met Catie &  Christiana and saw the cars on the freeway from the top of a mountain, and felt really content with life.

July

Hiked to the top of Runyon Canyon (aka I was dragged). Saw celebrities! Had a really special July 4th. Visited Camp Kern with my favorite people in the world. Had a truly magical time, and learned that some things are meant to stay in the past.

August

I cooked a lot of food because I was sad. I moved out of my apartment in LA and felt a LOT of feels. Lived at home for a few weeks and got ready for Portland.

September

Spent a few days driving up here with my dad. We went white water rafting, and saw Crater Lake. Saw Multnomah Falls in person. Had more types of beer in the first month here than i'd had my entire life. Lived for almost 6 weeks with no furniture in the house, working a crappy job that I hated. Despite it, I had a really great first couple of weeks in Portland. 

October

Had an absolute BALL at Sauvie Island's pumpkin patch. Got lost in a field of sunflowers. Explored PDX with my roommates, and learned to cook a TON of vegetarian meals. Got my 14th? tattoo because over the course of 2012 I learned at I was and am enough. I'm enough for myself, and no one can ever tell me otherwise, and I refuse to feel otherwise.

November

Dani came and visited Portland! We did tourist stuff, of course. I tried changing my transmission fluid, but instead gave myself an oil change. That was an expensive lesson. Explored Portland with Jes, and found a hard cider bar that was heavenly. Drove 17+ hours to LA with Jenn to surprise my parents the day after Thanksgiving.

December

Brandon moved in and I turned 23. I spent my birthday eve in great company, and felt really... fine, for the first time in over a month. Felt heartache and loneliness on an extreme scale.

This year started out so wonderfully. It's been the hardest year of my life, and I am glad it's ending. I am looking forward to 2013.
