A portrait of my character Lyrique Fey. A kind mutual of mine made a paint over of another of my pieces a few days ago and I tried to apply some of what she pointed out in this. (Things to do with blocking in light/shadow and paying more attention to where the light hits.) via /r/DigitalPainting https://ift.tt/2T8ERr9 by Kaydreamer
Nosy and inappropriate doesn't even BEGIN to describe some of those questions, yikes! But I'll bite. A few of the less... weird ones. xD Lets see. 29, 31, 93 and 98. *Double checks to see that none of them are horrendously inappropriate* YEP, THOSE'LL DO.
Haha well, it’s not like I really mind most of them. Most, mind you...29. Name something you CANNOT wait for
Is it time for Avengers yet? It’s so close to Avengers time. Also free comic book day is on the horizon! Also pretty much every convention on my to-do list for the year! Urgh, I need to organise tickets before they sell out but there’s that whole work thing… Putting tickets up nearly ten months in Advance is kinda dicky :/
31. What is one thing you wish you could change about your lifeTo be fair to myself, I’ve actually successfully changed a lot of the things I wanted to and that’s a pretty grand achievement in itself.BUT.I would dearly love to go back and make 15yr old Beau work at Kmart and not turn down that job offer at McDonald’s. Push him to get at least a shift supervisor role at either. May be different overseas, but as an adult here, I’ve since learned McDonald’s is one of the easiest ways into acquiring a ton of barrista experience and Management work with no prior experience required. It’s your best chance at having any qualification for that work with the necessary experience to back it up. Kmart/Target are similar for teenagers. One of your best shots at getting into Retail Management with no previous experience. And so many people, myself included, would turn their noses up at that and go no way? NOOOO. You want that experience so that in the future, job hunting is slightly less nightmarish! In every job I’ve recently applied for, potential employers have expressed that previous experience like that would have been preferred. God dammit 15yr old Beau. Real tired of picking up after your shit.
93. How would you label yourself?Compassionate, loyal, sociable, resourceful, huge dork, circus ringleader, organic free-range low fat 5%alcohol.
98. Out Of Everything In The World What Do You Wish ForWell, there’s that
Just stumbled across your posts about art career burnout. I had the very same thing happen to me with my music degree. Felt like I'd wasted so much time and money at uni... but after taking a year off, I ended up going back for a post grad in education. I know I'm in EXACTLY the career I was always destined for now, and my love of making music has come back tenfold. Even if teaching's not for you, (you need to LOVE it to be good) a post grad in something arty can be a worthy thing to look into!
funny story, I'd been cycling through crackpot ideas of what I could POSSIBLY do about a career, and today I went with my dad to work and shadowed the guy in charge of software QA in a last ditch effort to maybe feel interested in something maybe. Predictably I remained unmoved and then spent most of the day sitting at a desk being sad and in pain, and I basically resolved to just get a crap job for now and then take a course in 3D modeling and animation cause. I just. all my eggs are in the art basket already and I figure it's really the only thing with even a chance of bringing me happiness after all. I've been feeling the burnout slowly wearing off and learning something new and something that I've always been interested in but too afraid to pursue (animation-- well, 2D animation, but 3d is ok too) might, I dunno... inject me with some passion and zest for life again lol
I'LL DO IT! #1: Model paints arranged in a circle, #2: CUTE FLUFFY BUNNIES, #3: Ink squeezed from a vintage, first-run Venom comic, #4: A large offering of BBQ meat, #5: Reflected light from Halo and Mass Effect discs suspended above the paint-circle, and #6: The aforementioned disks are suspended with tape from the missing classic Doctor Who episodes. =D
I’m pretty sure that’s exactly how it’s done.This is a level 100 Beau-mancer right here.
I'm loving these 'bending in our world' headcanons! The world I'm building has a similar dynamic, with only 5-10% of the population being Mages. The ways in which power and privilege have worked throughout the history of such a world is something I've always been fuzzy on, and I didn't realise trying to apply Avatar dynamics to our history would be such a great source of ideas. When I one day get around to writing this thing, I hope I can represent that dynamic effectively.
Mary:
Ooh, sounds interesting! Though that's less of a ratio than my AU. (4 billion benders to 3 billion nonbenders)
