Cloudward, Ho! Academic Headcanons
I'm currently working on a fanfiction of how the original crew of the Zephyr first met and came up with some academic headcanons!
Comfrey MacLeod holds a PhD in Aeronautical Engineering, but returned to academia later in life to pursue it. After earning her bachelor's degree, she worked as an engineer on Van Chapman's family's vessel for 25 years, which is how she met Van.
Van Chapman didn't attend university, but she assisted Dr. MacLeod with her PhD research, which was developing the Normal Air Balloon. (In the first episode, Brennan says that Van was flying with the since she invented friodynamic lift in her kitchen.)
Marya Junková went to school to become a pilot. However, she had to take an introductory engineering course taught by Dr. MacLeod and was her star pupil. Hence, Dr. MacLeod invited her to join the crew at such a young age, and Marya was also the one to decipher her calculations.
Monty LaMontgommery has an MS in Conservation Biology. He first met Dr. MacLeod at an academic conference in Bellenuit.
Daisuke Bucklesby didn't attend university and met Dr. MacLeod on one of her first adventures while on the run from the authorities.
Maxwell Goth is getting his PhD in Kineseology because he doesn't want to face the Real World™️ (relatable).
Olethra MacLeod was homeschooled by her parents.
