Relationship? Or Not?
Recently I was asked why I haven't been in a relationship since I have been in college. Its a question I have been asked by family and close friends, and now just nosy people who wanna know. I have even thought of this myself. My first answer to the question was the fact that I don't want to have to answer to anyone. Calling everyday and texting all times of the day may be ideal for someone but its not for me. I have issues with answering to people or being all the way available because then if the tables are turned, would they be there for me? I had to go into reevaluation of myself. I then began to realize that I didn't have a relationship with myself. I couldn't be alone or by myself for too long. I was always hanging with somebody or talking to somebody. So I went into my own personal space and became a hermit. I stopped hanging out with people everyday, I became more invested in what I had going on then what others had going on. I took up at least a years worth of time to get myself together. So my new answer to the question is I had to get myself together before I join someone else's life. How can a relationship thrive on broken pieces. I am much wiser now and able to accept things a little bit more because I have worked on myself.
