This page from Drawing Papers 32 features Romance, a collage made by Kay Rosen in 2002.

The 2002 exhibition Kay Rosen: Collages 1999-2002 presented an adventurous and exploratory drawing series springing from the artist’s larger body of text-based work. The works emerged from Rosen’s continued fascination with language and commitment to eliciting new meanings from everyday objects through the layering of text and image. Through subtle combinations of found materials, Rosen coaxed a playful humor from words, her longtime subject matter.
