aaaah i’m going to go on a huge tangent on this
my actual starting headcanon for kayver was that waver had a huge crush on kayneth back before the whole issue with the thesis started, since for him kayneth was someone to look up to, kayneth was interested in waver’s potential despite his low bloodline, and it escalated from there
i ship it in two different ways: the one where they’re the ages that they are in-series and it’s pre-hgw so they haven’t started to hate each other yet but they’ve become disillusioned with quite how great they thought the other one was, and the one where waver is an adult and kayneth is still in a wheelchair, post-hgw, and it’s a tense, cold relationship that only came about because of the shared experience. (i actually find myself unable to ship it during the timeline of the series proper, which is pretty interesting) so it’s either before or after, which one i prefer depends on my mood, and since i’m in the mood for the first right now here’s a sexcanon:
waver’s usually the one who initiates sex, since he has a higher sex drive because of his age and kayneth won’t admit to wanting it when he does, but both of them are pretty interchangeable on who’s going to be penetrated but kayneth will always be on top if waver’s going to be in him, since he just will not accept being submissive in two ways at once, but when they finish (if they finish, see paragraph below) they actually will cuddle (or not really cuddle, just lay against each other, waver half on kayneth’s chest and kayneth resting his arm on waver’s shoulders) but they won’t talk because wow now that they think about it this is really embarrassing and if word got out that would be really terrible but for some reason they keep doing this why
actually two sexcanons and this one’s more fun: waver’s a biter when he’s excited and kayneth is not fond of it. one bite earns a hard push to his head, a second bite will get a slap, and on the third bite kayneth will kick him off entirely and pull the blankets over himself and turn his back on waver, and this is worse for waver than kayneth because hello young adult horniness and he has to apologize really well really quickly or he’s not going to finish that night (day, whatever) but sometimes waver will get kayneth back if kayneth is being too self-centered during sex (which is often) and waver will just stop what he’s doing and get out from under kayneth and roll himself up in the covers and kayneth will get angry but waver will be like ‘ignoring you’ but the difference is that kayneth will not apologize and up to half the times they have sex they won’t actually finish because either one of these things happens
but as a side note i can completely see why it would unnerve some people and i like to think i have a good sense of when it’s acceptable to ship it and in what context (and i keep a mental list of who’s ok with it and who’s not because a couple people i admire loathe it entirely and i know one of them visits my blog sometimes, and then another person i know refuses to hear me even try to justify/explain it er…)
but it does bother me when anyone treats it like the only way to ship it is as fluff but i do make sure to keep their actual canon relations in perspective when i ship it because i know perfectly well that they would fight.

especially post-hgw, nothing really near a healthy relationship at all but yes i still ship them because it can be such a huge range of things that i just really love it uvu
