ETHIOPIAN 🇪🇹 // Kaywot (beef stew with spices; aud20), Yedoro Tibs (barbecue chicken with spices; aud19.95) and Beyaynetu (combination of five vegan dishes; aud18) from Injera House, The Square Mirrabooka, Mirrabooka. Menu on last few pics. The dishes are served on top of Injera - a sour fermented flatbread with a slightly spongy texture, traditionally made of teff flour. I first tried Injera from The Abyssinian Restaurant in Melbourne and have loved it ever since. Very glad to find Injera here in Perth and I’ve wanted to visit @injerahouse for ages. Both the beef stew and chicken stew were delicious and flavoursome. Beef stew was slightly spicy with a good kick and reminded me of Malaysian beef rendang. The chicken stew was unlike anything I’ve had before - the chicken pieces were tender and the rich tomato and jalapeño sauce was so appetising that we couldn’t help lap up all the sauce with the Injera flatbread. The chickpea sauce, cabbage and beetroot dishes were really good too. We also tried the Ethiopian teas which contained lots of spices like cardamom etc. The owner kindly made another tea for me without the spices and with condensed milk. There’s a wash area for you to wash your hands before eating here as the traditional way of eating Injera is with your hands. #InjeraHouse #MirrabookaSquare #Mirrabooka #Ethiopian #Kaywot #YedoroTibs #Beyaynetu #Injera #BeefStew #ChickenStew #PerthFoodReview #PFR_InjeraHouse (at Injera House) https://www.instagram.com/p/CTEKAI5hSpA/?utm_medium=tumblr
