29 May 1952. `Operation High Tide’ Aerial refuelling was used on a combat mission for the 1st time, with 12 Republic F-84E Thunderjets of the 159th Fighter Bomber Squadron being refuelled by a Boeing KB-29 Superfortress on their way to Sariwon.

Around 80 years ago, Boeing created the very first tanker with the Flying Boom, the KB-29P. It's refueling a North American RB-45C. I've got to find one of these KB-29s in a museum to get a look at one in person.
