King Aegon II Targaryen “Woodthrone” silver of hair, purple of eyes, who won the Dance of Dragons, married to his sister-queen Helaena Targaryen, silver of hair, purple of eyes, chubby cheeked, mad. They had four children. Twins, a third born male and a stillborn daughter.
King Jaehaerys II Targaryen “The Handsome” inherited the Iron throne upon his father’s death, claiming the golden dragon banner. He ruled as regent for many years as Aegon II had taken ill. He married his dornish betrothed, crowned her queen and who sired on her two children. Rumors wanted that he had a riverlander bastard who could challenge the claim of his firstborn son, but such never happened.
King Aegon III Targaryen “the dornish” brown of hair and brown of eyes claimed no dragon but married Queen Daria Tyrell thus bringing back in the fold the Tyrells. He was succeeded by his commanding, promising young son upon his death. During his reign his sister, Princess Maelora Targaryen married in the Stark line, giving leave to the Stark/Targaryen mixed line. Some clamored her son was actually the king’s and not her husband.
King Aemond I Targaryen “the Thousand Days king” ruled for no longer than three years and despite being a promising youth and king he never married; he was gold of hair and purple of eyes. When he started taking ill, he named his older cousin his heir. The commander of his kingsguard committed suicide as soon as the funeral for the king was done with.
King Aemon the Mad silver of hair and black of eyes, barely but was crowned and he was already dethroned for his striking madness which led to the death of his young wife. His only surviving child was granted status of princess though she later joined the Faith.
King Daeron I Targaryen “The Stag” silver of hair and teal of eyes, grandson of Prince Daeron the Daring, he dethroned king Aemon the Mad and was offered the crown. As the only sane male Targaryen of the Green line he accepted the title and ruled for ten years of peace with his wife, Queen Daenerys Lannister golden of hair and purple of eyes, and their children.
King Aenar I Targaryen ruled for five years before he was killed by his own dragon — though many claim that he was rejected by the Iron throne as the blades cut his cheek when he first claimed it — and was succeeded by his twin brother king Aemon Targaryen “The Silver” who sired many bastards and trueborn children. By his wife Queen Valla Hightower he had one son, Prince Aemond II who died childless, before his own father; by his mistress Syra of Southryos he had several children: septa Urla, Daeyanyra Waters and king Aemond III Targaryen whom he legitimised after his trueborn son’s death and whom was married to his sister-queen Daenys “The Princess in the Tower” . Historians say that the Queen had been already deflowered by her previous husband, but no trace was left a previous marriage and the Queen’ bloody bedsheet was paraded for all of Kings Landing to see by her husband when concerns of her impurity were first raised.
King Daeron II “the Mad” was ruled first by his mother and then by his sister-Queen Helaena II Targaryen whose lover (lord Commander Baratheon of the Skyghosts) dethroned him. King Daeron died, some claim, poisoned. His wife Queen Helaena married her adolescent brother and new king, king Aegon IV “The sickly” and ruled in his stead until her once lover lord Baratheon had her sequestered in her chambers and made a political prisoner of; taking as ward her brother the king and acting as Lord Hand until his death.
King Jaehaerys III “The Lawgiver” silver of hair and purple of eyes, married lady Anna Arryn after he warded for a time in the Eyrie. He ruled wisely for ten and five years, silver of hair and purple of eyes, he was succeeded by his young son king Aenar II Targaryen whom was betrothed and married to Queen Elia Martell, by whom he had his only surviving child, Princess Rhaenys Targaryen now married to Prince Robb Stark of Winterfell and Princess regent of the Realm.
Aenar III remarried again after the death of his first wife, at the moment his queen is Marcellyne Frey who has suffered the loss of a prince she had been nestling in her womb.
The Black line continued indisturbed in the east.
Lucerys Velaryon became Septon and did not have children; when he died his riches were inherited by his brothers, but some of them were ferried to Nightsong, possibly as a gift to the lady Caron and her son of whom he was always most fond.
Joffrey Velaryon married the daughter of a Tyroshi merchant, much younger than him, when he was fifty and three who gave him but a son, though he died in infancy of diphtheria. He died childless in Tyrosh where he had retired with his wife after one last trip to the Realm in which he bid his farewell to the west and his brother who there remained.
Aegon Targaryen the Unlucky after his attempt at claiming the Iron throne, was married to the daughter of a Pentoshi magister loyal to the Green line and had a daughter, through her maternal and bastard line his descendants still live in the person of the Prince of Pentos and his son.
Viserys Targaryen the Northern took residency in a new keep between the Stormlands and the dornish marshes after he returned from the North, which he visited often even in his late years, at least until his health allowed him to. He married Larra Rogare and had from her several children he loved fiercely. He was a quiet, studious man who misliked remembrance of the Dance of Dragons, and could not recall his brothers or his mother’s face, even less his father’s. His line went undisrupted as masters of Summerhall until the reign of Aemond III Targaryen, when in 227 AC his descendant, Aegon the King of the Rags, attempted once again to claim the Iron throne and indebted his line to do so. The king, Aemond III was merciful and instead of putting the whole line to the sword he offered them a chance to bend the knee. The Rags king chose the blade, mourning his eldest son who died on the battleground, meanwhile the youngest was sent east after he swore before Gods and Men he would not attempt to claim the Iron throne.
In late 284 AC Rhaegar Targaryen proclaimed himself the Champion of Light and strong of the prophecy of the Red God of Asshai he landed west under the guise of finding a wife and making amends with the king. He eloped with the last female daughter of the Stark-Targaryen line and sired of her a son, Aerion Blackfyre who was forced to bend the knee, and lived as ward under king Aenar in an attempt also to keep the North content as he was half one of their own; he was granted a name for his line when he claimed the Green Queen and became the Lord Commander of the Sky Ghosts. He married lady Sansa Stark of Winterfell, Wardeness of the North.
In the east Viserys the “Mad” lives secluded in Pentos, whilst his wife, Queen Daenerys Targaryen has launched an expedition that has won her the Slaver’s Bay.
Still, Viserys the Northern’ line is, to this day, the one preferred for matches for the small nobility of the Realm, to secure the fate of youngest daughter with small dowry and little to none future ahead. — from the writings of Maester Samwell Tarly of the Citadel.
