Personality

Depending upon who she speaks to, Yavanna can come across, sweet and caring. She can seem peaceful in nature and almost like that of a calming presence on sight. She’s refined and graceful. She carries herself with pride. 

She’s quick-witted and business savvy. While she can come off as peaceful, quiet and caring, she can also be secretive, cunning and lethal if need be. She runs a tight lipped ship in Fahalune. She believes in the saying loose lips sink ships and she wouldn’t be afraid to make the hard call to sink a loose lipped ship if it jeopardized the city and the businesses being run there.

Deals with the Devil: Yavanna runs a tightlipped ship when it comes to Fahalune. From the outside it would seem that everything is legitimate, but beneath the surface for those in the know, shady deals and seedy business is in abundance. This would be someone who does business with Yavanna. 

Fool Me Once: This would be someone that maybe has gone back on a deal, or didn’t honor their side. This would be someone that Yavanna would consider an enemy. This could be someone that may have betrayed her business-wise or even personally. 

Friends in high and low places: This would be someone that Yavanna trusts. She may not share family secrets but she would be the best of friends with them. Maybe they’re polar opposites but it works, or maybe they both enjoy the shadier side to life. 

Walk on the wild side: Truly being in Yavanna’s world, a world with a criminal underbelly can be intense and even dangerous. This plot can be a variation of things, someone who was formerly there, agreeing to keep her secrets but just couldn’t take being so deep in a world with an undertone of crime could have been platonic or romantic. Or it could be someone that’s in her world now, knowing the intimate details and willing to keep her secrets. 

History

If there was one thing to be proud of it was the Sahrathel legacy in Fahalune. What started out as a city overrun with crime lords and criminals, soon turned around for what on the surface felt like the better. Soon, crime lords had been turned into legitimate business owners under the rule of the governance of the Sahrathel family.  For years, crime had run rampant and the governor at the time had been deposed as the situation in the city was getting no better. Elected then was the first Sahrathel family member to begin to turn the city around. Rather than oust all of the crime lords, instead, they capitalized on the crime, transforming crime lords into legitimate business owners, who still continued their seedy businesses, but with a more secret approach. 

Businesses became fronts, and while they did turn profit from the legitimate business, there was income from their illicit businesses as well. Before long the city became prosperous, surpassing their wildest dreams of possibility for Fahalune. Because of their success the Sahrathel family made sure to keep a tight lip about just how they had achieved such prosperity. It was due to this that they made sure that they passed down the mantle to govern through the family, making it impossible to vote for someone not of the Sahrathel family. 

Each person in the immediate Sahrathel family had a purpose, whether it be running a legitimate business blissfully ignorant of the other things going on in the city or delving into the secrets that only select few in the family knew. Those secrets of the underbelly of crime and seediness that ran deep in the city. Those that knew of the secrets were most equipped to be groomed for the political lifestyle of the family. It wasn’t for the faint at heart, nor was it for those more inclined to speak freely of secrets that were best left unsaid. 

Yavanna had always had an interest in politics but more importantly, an interest in the family business. She was curious and always questioning. She was attentive and always watching. When her father, Kellam, held the position, she learned the ins and outs as she grew older. Kellam had not only shown her the political side of governing over Fahalune, but also the hard calls that had to be made on the darker side of what this city held. To be able to govern over crime, she had to be well versed in it. Know how to commit said crimes, know how to get away with them. She had to have an intimate knowledge of every single business above and below board. She grew to seamlessly toe the line licit and illicit business. Yavanna also had to know handle those who didn’t keep the secrets of Fahalune safe. 

Although she had quite a few siblings, when her father passed away, she was the best choice for governing over the city. She had been known for being groomed for it. It had been a well known fact how she’d taken up her father’s passion for governing, as well as overtime how well business owners came to know her, respect her and sometimes even fear her. Because Kellam had prepared her well for this position, it was a seamless transition for her. She had her family’s seal of approval, and most importantly her mother, Talindra, ever the sounding board in her corner. Yavanna planned to continue running a prosperous city, and holding tight to the secrets that kept that goal in place.

Personality

Estelle, nicknamed Stella by her family and close friends, is bubbly, carefree and bright. She has an infectious smile and warmth to her that is rare to come by. Charm practically flows out of her with each breath, a promise that there is no one else in the world she’d so like to see. Along with her never ending charisma, Stella is bright, curious by nature, and ever-willing to learn. 

She is a free-spirited, brash and determined young woman. Characteristics that often get her in trouble, especially with life within the Dukedom and at court. She has a girlish enthusiasm that can often be mistaken for naivety. She leads with her heart and uses her smile as a shield. She is also much more of a tomboy than meets the eye. Estelle has always wanted to run off or escape the position she has been born into. She never wanted to be a pawn for marriage. She wanted to be pirate, but seeing how unlikely that seemed, she decided she wanted to run off and join the military- to fight beside her brothers and sisters like the Seaworths were legendary for. But, all of her secret training was in vein, for she was caught and punished accordingly before she could even step foot out of the front door.

She is mischievous, developing a knack for sneaking out and disguising herself as a peasant from time to time so that she can immerse herself in the city streets. 

Stella acts as if she has not a care in the world, but deep down she is fairly insecure when it comes to her social status and birth. She doesn’t feel like she deserves the title of Duchess and is fearful of being found out for the fraud she truly is. She loves her family, but resents them for the lies she is forced to weave everyday. 

Additional Info

The Piece That Doesn’t Quite Fit- While Estelle is acting as the Duchess, she tries to fit the part of a posed and put-together young lady to the best of her abilities, even if she very often falls short. I’d love for there to be some friends at court that can help her along with everything or even enemies who try to expose the woman’s slip ups.

Night of Debauchery- Estelle occasionally sneaks out disguised as a commoner. It’s one of the few times she truly feels carefree and herself. I’d love for there to be people who know her by her disguise. They’d know her by the name of “Aspen” and could be her drinking buddies, someone who she’s gambled with/played cards with, someone she spent a night with, someone who helped her out of trouble, a pirate who let her hang around the ship at port, a solider who indulged her with their stories etc.

The Family that Lies Together, Stays Together- I’d love for someone to play her half-brother who will take over the Dukedom from her when he returns from training, another one of her half-siblings from the late duke or even family on her mother side whom she’s been kept away from all this time

The Truth is Out- Someone who either knows her secret (the head maid who raised Estelle might have been their mother) or someone who discovers it

The Seaworth Secret: Unlike the rest of her family with their raven black hair, Stella, with her amber eyes and tangled curls, always seemed out of place. Although everyone believes her to be the daughter of the late Duke and Duchess, Stella is actually illegitimate. The only people who know the truth consist of her half-siblings and the head maid who raised her. She never knew much about her real mother growing up, though her father did refer to the woman as a temptress now and again. But, from what she had picked up from the head maid’s thoughts-  it seems Stella’s mother was no more than a ‘common whore’ whom the Duke had plucked off of the street and allowed to be his Mistress for a short while. The betrayal of the Late Duchess is what sent her grace towards an early grave.

Estelle sometimes jokes with her siblings that she is more Seaworth than the rest of them: The illegitimate child clung onto the legend that she was descendant of a pirate growing up. She used to be a bit of a hopeless romantic in that sense and loved the idea that a woman was the one who continued their family line through finding her soulmate no less. As a child, she used to be found spending almost every minute of her free time down by the sea in search of the siren of whom she was a kin to.

Estelle is the “Acting Duchess”, but given the truth about her birth, she knows she will need to forfeit the title soon. Estelle’s older brother, the rightful Duke of House Seaworth has been off either training in the military, the magaesterium, or continuing his studies at a monastery or temple somewhere. This is why she’s been the acting Duchess for a number of years. But as soon as he returns, just shortly before his own wedding, the title will go to him. Her brother and her used to be thick as thieves as children, but as they grew up and the weight of politics fell upon them, the pair of siblings began to grow more estranged.

Because of this, Estelle’s brother was trained to carry on the Dukedom, while Estelle was encouraged to go down a different path. She joined the Magaesterium at a young age, hoping to be gifted in hydrokinesis with her love of the water. But, alas, Estelle was gifted, but in mental magic, once again seeming to prove how un-seaworthy she truly was. The Magi, instead, took to telepathy and telekinesis. Her head constantly overwhelmed with other’s tumultuous opinions of her.Estelle has always wanted to run off or escape the position she has been born into. She never wanted to be a pawn for marriage. She wanted to be pirate, but seeing how unlikely that seemed, she decided she wanted to run off and join the military- to fight beside her brothers and sisters like the Seaworths were legendary for. Personality

Cal is easy going and light hearted and in his nature, likes to help people. But if there was something he wanted, he wouldn’t stop for anything. He sees himself as all he can really depend on in the world. 

He likes simple things. Sweet wines, good books, and high places to sit to watch the stars. The stars were something always constant in his life.

My loyalty for a fee-  He has a goal of trying to further himself in the world, and offers his magic to nobles... for a fee. Selfishly, so that he feels like he has a home or that he belongs.

On the streets of the Red Keep- He grew up on the streets of the Red Keep, an orphan. He has no family, no one that is blood at least. But he has found family, people he trusts. People he calls his brothers and sisters, even though they may not look alike.

You pull me in like the moon does to the seas- C’mon.. the man is a romantic. He wants to wax poetic with the best of them, he falls in love with someone new every day but that doesn't mean that they're not special.

History

Cal grew up on the streets of the Red Keep, he has no memory of the time before that. But he has no feelings about it. It was just.. life. He fought to survive and he stood where he is today because of it. He would lie, cheat, and steal if it meant that he could eat, and had a safe place to eat. But he was young, 7 or so, when his magic manifested. A memory he can’t quite pick out but he remembers nearly drowning and then... not.  He remembers being whisked away to stone walls and his magic grew from there. He became more secure in who he was, and who he would be.

His light magic developed in to healing, he’d supplement that magic with common healing herbs and practices. His water magic mostly ended up being parlor tricks, but he still found it useful. There was always use.

Personality

Leo at first glance comes across as the type whose is always out for himself. He is a quick-witted and backstabbing thief- cracking jokes and spilling sarcasm at every turn. He’s a goofball who doesn’t seem to take himself too seriously. He can be arrogant and even seem cowardly at times, choosing to run from guards and law enforcement when his sticky fingers get him in tricky situations. He is money driven and seems like the type to toss aside any form of dignity he has for the right price.

But, Leo uses his confident and mischievous exterior as a false sense of optimism for the thief his highly vulnerable deep down. When he was living as a street rat for a period of time, he’d sometimes give his rations of food to the children who seemed to need it more than he did. Leo also isn’t one to turn down a challenge or a fight. He’s loyal to those he feels have earned his respect and, he only holds people at a distance, because he believes that love is as much of a fraud as he is.

Calling All Rebels: A plot open to any and all rebels/rebellion connections. Like-minded people who believe in the rebellion’s purpose to building a better world. These connections can range from alliances to silent rifts within the rebellion. Leo is cocky and a risk taker who is loyal to his best friend Theo. Your character could find Leo amusing, feel like he threatens exposure, or disagree with his reasoning for joining the rebellion in the first place.

Slippery Fingers: Leo is someone who slips in and out of places unnoticed. The man wears many hats- sometimes dressing up like a Court Jester while other times appearing as a Manservant or a wandering Thespian (He typically has one disguise per place he visits while thieving or doing stuff for the rebels, although in Glasswater he often just wanders around as Theo’s friend). Your character could have caught him stealing something while in one of these disguises or stumbled upon him in a different disguise than they encountered him in before.

Once Upon a December: Someone who either knew him back at his time at the North when he was training to be a knight or someone who knew him from those first few years when he was living on the streets. They could have helped drag him into the life he’s in now, try to help him or let him figures things out on his own, but either way they would have seen a much more vulnerable side to him than the con-man he is now.

History

Leo was born the second son of Lucien and Lisbeth Erickson. His older brother Lucan was his father’s pride and joy. Immediately, the old man started to train Lucan for Knighthood. It was a family tradition. All of the Erickson men had always been loyal to the Northlands as knights. They would all lay down their lives for the sake of the Royal family and their home. And Leo was intended to follow suit. But, the knights code of chivalry didn’t seem to be engrained in Leo’s bones like it had been his older brother. 

Leo was a curious child who had a tendency to ask questions and talk back. He had trouble following orders and would often act of line. But, despite his rebellious tendencies, he still looked up to his brother. There still wasn’t a second thought he would become a knight and for the most part, the two were thick as thieves growing up. 

But, then their mother vanished into the night. Lisbeth had been a handmaiden to House Desrochers before she had gone missing. Most believed that she fled or worse. While, Lucan didn’t give up hope in finding her, Leo started to question what was the point of it all?

Their mother devoted her life to the Royal Family. Leo remembered spending hours as a child playing in the servants quarters with his mother warning him to stay out of sight and not wander the halls. It sometimes felt like she spent more time with the Desrochers than she did with them and for what? Whether she ran off or if something happened to her, she was servant at the end of the day. She was a nobody and she was expendable.

Leo watched his brother obsess over this need to find her and his dad close himself off from life. Their father never remarried and turned all of his thoughts onto his boys rather than himself just to get by. Leo watched his mother’s disappear rip apart his family while the nobles his ancestors and the Ericksons before him swore their lives to protect continue on as if it was nothing. 

So, while Lucan continued his training to become a knight, Leo gave up. He no longer believed in their family tradition and no want to uphold a code defending a family he didn’t deem was worth losing his life over.

Leo packed up and left the North just like the rumors said his mother had. It was only fitting really. Lucan had always taken after his father, while Leo resembled his mother in practically every way. 

When Leo skipped out on them, Lucan and him remained in touch. They’d exchange letters from time to time and keep up as Leo traveled the world, purposely leaving out all the details that he knew would make his family worry or look down upon him for his new of way of life. But, for Lucien, Leo skipping out on them was like losing his wife all over again. The man completely cutting Leo out of his life for not wanting to follow in their family’s footsteps.

Lucan lead a ‘good’ life path. It was something to aspire to, and it worked for him. While Leo went a different way. He struggled for the first years. Joining the knights would have been simple and he would have been given what few comforts he was used to, while trying to make a new life for himself posed to be more difficult. Leo lived on the streets for the first few years, shacking up with the wrong crowds and doing what he had to, to survive. And as more and more time passed, the once future turned into a theft and a fraud. He joined the rebels, no longer wanting to uphold or feed into a system that was filled with inequality in which the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Leo is a cunning charlatan who plays whatever part he needs to, to get ahead.

Hello all, I’m excited to get Irsa on the dash so I’ll keep this short for now, but will likely add more in the future. I prefer to plot over discord because tumblr’s messaging system is so...tiny, but whatever floats your boat.

Personality Years of bard training has taught Irsa to put aside her true self and to don a mask of elegance and charm when in court, but once her work is done, the mask slips off with ease. Her voice is soft and even, rarely raising in volume, and her laughter is musical, but quiet. Like most elves, she is graceful in even the smallest of actions. 

When she is not attempting to charm her target, a cold, bristly exterior masks fear beneath. Irsa is focused on the past and flees from it, looking ahead to the future with desire but an equal amount of anxiety. She is matter-of-fact and practical in her way of speaking, as most elves from Aralune tend to be, and there is no room for superfluous words. There is always an ulterior motive to her actions, simply because that is the way of her people. Despite these shortcomings, Irsa is a fiercely loyal friend to those she deems trustworthy, but she will always be skeptical that those closest to her will one day betray her.

Overall, I’d like to see Irsa bond with some of the more shadowy characters, as well as any bards. If anyone were to hire her to spy on another character, that could also be a fun plot to carry out. She has also traveled to all of the elven cities and lived there for about 25 years each as part of her training, so maybe she’s met your character in the past. She’s also curious about the rebel cause, so if your character is a rebel, they might have some things to talk about.

History Irsa was the second child of Koreias and Lafawen Nathvyll, a family name that brought with it scandal and disgrace, for it was Koreias’ father who attempted to assassinate the governor of Aralune. He had failed, and his entire family was to be executed as a result. Koreias’ mother escaped, however, when she was still pregnant with him. Thus, the Nathvyll family line survived against all odds. 

The family was discovered years later when Irsa was only a child and her younger sister was still not yet born. She went with her grandmother, father, mother, and older brother to go before the Elder Council in chains, but instead of being executed, they were pardoned and permitted to live in Aralune under a watchful eye. It was better that they were kept track of, rather than exiled in unknown lands. Still, the Elder Council brought forth magi to strip the family of the truth-seeking magic present in their bloodline. It was an excruciatingly painful process, and the young Irsa barely survived the mental toil. 

All hope was not lost, however. Though Irsa’s grandmother lay on her deathbed, she used her final savings to commission a mage to craft an amulet that would allow the user to determine truth from lies. It was a replacement for the magic that the Elder Council stripped from the Nathvyll family. When Irsa later chose to become a bard, the amulet would pass to her, as she would need it most.

A fire burned in Irsa’s belly from that day on that would never be quelled. But she was unsure of what she wanted. Would she live out her days in taverns, drinking away the pain like her father? Would she obey the city guards and seek a life of dignity like her mother? Would she become a staunch rebel like her brother, seeking blood of the nobles? Irsa endured 300 years of training to earn her place in the ranks of the Order of the Songbirds, an elite faction of spies and assassins masquerading as bards. Her training took her to each of the nine other elven cities and among their respective courts, all while she learned how to hold her own in combat. Nora can be described as a fighter a warrior in her own right. She’s always felt the need to fight, for for her place in the family even though she already had it. Serve in the military even though her father didn’t ask her to do so.

Unlike the rest of her family that are very affectionate she’s on the least affectionate side of the spectrum. Limiting the hugs and Ainsley’s snuggle time.

She’s very blunt and very out spoken and even though she’s small she’s pretty mighty. She doesn’t trust easily but if you do earn her trust she’s loyal and will hold it near and dear to her. Even though she’s blunt and sarcastic she can also have her fair share of fun. And she’s versatile so she can have lighthearted moments.

Friends How many of us have them: She would love to get to know other dragon riders and dragons. It’s a part of herself that her mother wanted to hold strong to even though she went to live with her father in Red Keep. She doesn’t want to lose touch with that part of herself.

When a good woman goes to war: She has served in the military. So these could be people that have served and may know her from her time serving and fighting. She’s always felt as though she had a lot to prove so she always fought as if she did.

We could be outlaws: Although she never had to want for anything, she often finds herself with the need to bend the rules a little. Stealing when the opportunity strikes, getting into fights in the taverns. This would be someone that enjoys and joins in the reckless fun she often gets up to on occasion.

History

Annora Amaranthe was born as an accident, an unintentional consequence of a night of passion. Her mother had never quite explained it that way, but as Annora grew older she began to understand. Her father was a man of wealth of notoriety and of higher class than her mother who was a simple woman that dared to meet a man well above her own status that paid her attention. She hadn’t wanted to bring a child into the world torn between two worlds, but she was happy that this man, Earl Amaranthe, was a stand up man that offered to take Annora in and care for her. As Annora grew she never questioned her father’s love for her. He always showed it to her, made her feel as though she were just as important as the rest of his children. Even though to Annora it was always glaringly obvious that in the eyes of the system set in place she was not.

She was different in more ways than one, she was a dragon rider, something that she learned about on one of her many visits to her mother in Loqoala. She truly felt special then, bonding with a dragon, feeling like if there was one person on earth that she did have that she was special to it was her them. Most of her life, her driving force had been to matter. Once she was able to and at her mother’s insistence, she joined the Dragon’s Order. Her mother harped on how special she was and how she was destined for great things from birth. She didn’t believe it was so, but she tried. Her father had also made her an Advisor to the House, a job she felt under qualified for, but planned to hold effectively in hopes to make him proud. It was also why she chose to serve in the military. She wanted to do good things, to make herself seem and feel as though she belonged. That maybe she had earned the title bestowed upon her and that she deserved to be a part of this family.

Nora did so many things in her life that she could look back on and be proud of, and while her predicament was an odd one for her, feeling inadequate in a home that was nothing but accepting of her, she could say that after the rebellion and the death of her father, that she didn’t know where she fit anymore. She didn’t whether the pieces of her life that she had pasted neatly together truly mattered when the glue that had kept her together was now gone. Nora let devastation color her life, as she didn’t truly know or understand what it meant to go on from this.

Personality

Jhaan Trisgwyn’s personality has in many ways been a product of the circumstances of his birth. Being a self-claimed half breed, he does what he can to try and be as human as possible. His own distaste for his own race has led to his personality being filled with quite a bit of resentment for any intermixing of the races of the world.

However, in an attempt to not seem outwardly hostile to anyone, he does his best to play the role of a cocky and brash knight. Albeit, one who will still maintain an attempt at a good heart, and has on more than one occasion acted quite friendly with a potential target so that they would trust him and not expect his betrayal and deception.

History

Jhaan Trisgwyn was born in Luthren 750 years ago, though he rarely speaks of anything that occurred in his life prior to him being 200. By that time he had already began trying his hand as a wandering mercenary, and self-made knight, though he still swears someone knighted him once upon a time. No one has any evidence of this though. Jhaan has occasionally attempted to take on the stylings of various folk heroes, trying to drum up customers. Though when the coin runs dry, he picks up his sword and he leaves.

However, when the rebellion began to take shape, his own bitterness towards his parents and the life that they forced upon him as a half-breed brought him to join. Quickly he became deeply involved, finding that his own status as a wanderer promoted several opportunities for the fledgling rebels. Wherever he found dragons, he would let others know, occasionally growing closer to the dragon he had met... keeping them close until it was time to strike. However, it isn’t unknown for him to attempt to fight on his own, especially if he is overwhelmed by his own anger and grief while around a known dragon.

Personality

Alek is a very curious person, personality wise. He has always questioned everything, and made sure that the answers made sense to him. As a young child, he never accepted the parental answer of “because I said so” there always had to be a logical reason to it. He also is a very hands on hard worker, wanting to learn about the title he’d gotten and the later the title of Duke that he would inherit and their agricultural aspects of East Reach from the ground up. 

He’s also Charming. He learned early in life, right after his awkward pre-teen phase that his smile could get him into and out of trouble at any given moment. Add to that his time studying at the magaesterium and honing in on Telepathy. He felt he had all the tools necessary to say all the right things when he needed to say them. 

That charm switched to more of a recklessness of a troublemaker after his mom passed away. He still knew all the right things to say to get out of trouble, but he always looked for ways to get into some. To escape the sadness and the hole and emptiness he felt without his mother.

LOOKING FOR TROUBLE: Alek, knowing that he is expected to behave in a certain way, to be on his best behavior and represent his dad, his family their people in the best possible light often looks for trouble and reckless fun around every corner. Since the death of his mother, he has often upped that reckless fun tenfold with his fellow troublemaking partner.

FRIEND IN A TIME OF NEED: This person would have known Alek for years or even most of his life. This person would be like his best friend, someone that is always there for him as he for them. They save each other from boredom during different events, and when his mother passed away, they were his ear to listen and shoulder to cry on.

History

Alek had always been a very curious child one that was a tactile learner, wanting to experience and learn about the agriculture in the land by getting his hands dirty. He learned the inner workings not just by word of mouth but also by actually doing. Sure he was destined to one day take the reins of the kingdom when his dad was no longer in charge, but he felt it best to learn more about it by doing. He could be found out in the fields soaking up every lesson that was taught to him. It was the importance of hard work and not having anything handed to him that always drove him in his life. He was the same way when he set his sights on magic. 

His mother had gotten him into magic. She had gone to the Magaesterium at a young age herself and held a natural ability for Elemental magic, whereas Alek, held a natural ability for mental magic, especially that of Telepathy. It had gotten him into trouble, but he always had a flair for trouble and rebellion. He also learned a lot about people, with the telepathic ability. He learned that not everything was as it seemed on the surface, most people could pull on a smile, or charm and be plotting to take what you have right from under you, or they could be hurting. If anything it made him more of a people pleaser, always saying what would fit the situation or what someone actually wanted to hear. 

After his time at the Magaesterium, he spent time as a traveling tutor. He wanted to get out and travel for a time, before he set his focus back on East Reach and the House of Ashcraft making sure to soak up all the knowledge that his father could impart on him. But when his mother died, those plans of spending years on top of years as a traveling tutor came to a grinding halt. His mother’s death had rocked him to his very core, and the marriage that soon followed, making Ainsley his “step mother” had not helped to bring back that excitement that he had for life, for magic and tutoring, for learning about agriculture and the economy and all the things that would go into making him a future Duke of House Ashcraft. Years had passed and he still missed the presence his mother had in his life.
