HC: Hans and his signet ring
Hans has one signet ring. Its one of the last things his father gave to him before he died, the only thing he truly can remember him by. He wears it on his finger almost always. One of his nervous ticks is touching and twisting it around his finger.
At the bottom you can see the smith's marks of where the ring has been sized up over the past few years. Hans will freak out if he loses it.
I have a headcanon that while out on his travels, Henry isn’t particularly fussy about who repairs his armour/weapons, despite being a blacksmith himself.
He likes to help out and support blacksmiths from small towns and villages, happy to pay as long as the work is done decently and at a fair price.
This applies to all his gear, except Radzig’s sword.
Henry is methodical and meticulous about the care and upkeep of his Father’s sword, so much so that he won’t allow just anyone to carry out repairs on it, only himself.
So I have this headcanon where, as Hans and Henry’s relationship progresses after the events of KCD2, Hans would be really afraid of their connection being discovered. Because he knows that if it is discovered, Henry would be the one hanged, while Hans would get off with just disgrace, since no one would execute a noble.
And because of this, Hans may still be cold toward Henry or even mean when there are people around, just to avoid any suspicion. And in my head, Henry could be really confused by that and even see it as Hans’ indifference toward him. So it would require a lot of explanation from both sides to avoid misunderstandings.
I have this headcanon where Hans starts realizing his feelings for Henry partly because of the dreams he has.
I like to imagine that he starts having his first dreams about Henry as early as KCD1, and that they progress and change depending on Hans’ feelings toward him.
At first, they’re more innocent in nature - friendly, even - but then hints of romance start appearing, and maybe something more. And what surprises Hans the most is that he doesn’t feel any disgust or discomfort, even though he thinks he should, because, as you know, sodomy was considered a sin at the time. On the contrary, he enjoys the feeling in his dream and everything feels absolutely natural.
And just like that, with every new dream, his real feelings become more and more obvious to him, until it’s impossible for him to hide them anymore.
What if, during the siege of Suchdol, Henry leaves on a mission and Hans is left there for several days and slowly starts to seriously worry about Henry and lose hope.
And what if, when he reaches the peak of anxiety and tension, as a last resort, he just drops to his knees and starts praying.
His prayer would be simple, yet passionate, almost hysterical. He would ask forgiveness for his 'sinful' love for Henry, while also admitting that he has never loved anyone in his life like this. He would beg for Henry to return safely, and if one of them must die, let it be himself, not his loved one, because Heaven knows, Henry had done nothing to deserve a fate like this and actually deserves to have more happiness in his life
And as he finishes the prayer, he would feel a bit better and feel hope slowly returning
HC: When Hans thinks of his father he mostly remembers big hunting boots. When he thinks of his fathers voice he just hears Hanush. He hates it.
