Young Thug – “Gain Clout” (Video)
At the stroke of midnight, Young Thug and his YSL crew released their Slime Language project to the world. Shortly after, during the release party (which doubled as a birthday celebration) at Dave & Busters in Hollywood, Thugger ended up getting arrested for gun possession. Talk about ups and downs. Anyways, moving on with the rollout, Thug’s team just released a video for “Gain Clout,” one of the two solo Thugger joints that features the ATLien performing verbal gymnastics with his flow over some electric production. The song is pretty wild and deserved a video just as crazy—which it did. Shouts to Millicent Hailes (director) and Lucas Prevost (creative director) for doing their thing.
Jay Rock Drops Triumphant New Single, “Win”
With their The Championship Tour off and running, TDE is primed for a summer takeover. Notching a fan favorite (and his first Billboard-charting) single with “King’s Dead,” Jay Rock — now with his own major label deal, on Interscope Records — returns with a new single in “Win.” Produced by Boi-1da and Vinylz (and ad-libs from Kendrick Lamar), the track is a triumphant return for the venerable emcee, who plans to release his long-in-the-works follow-up to his second studio album 90059 which arrived in 2015.
Tyga – “Taste” f. Offset (Video)
Although Tyga just released his Kyoto album in February, the only thing people remember about it is the absurdly graphic artwork. Looking to get back into rotation with the masses, the Left Coaster links up with Offset for his new single, “Taste.” Released with a matching video, which features about two dozen bikini-rocking women shaking their backends, the D.A. Doman-laced banger can be heard above.
Montana of 300 – “Ugly” (Video)
Although the GoFundMe campaign he launched for a possible “Who Run It” freestyle didn’t exactly pan out the way he might’ve wanted, Montana of 300 is back on the music grind and will be releasing his Pray For the Devil project on May 20th. With two weeks before its release, the Chicago native comes through with a video for “Ugly.” Produced by DrayRoyal, the WillNGo-directed clip can be seen above.
G Herbo – “Hood Legends” (Video)
Just days after ripping Three 6 Mafia’s “Who Run It” to pieces, G Herbo is back with another take on a hip hop classic. And this time, the Chicago rapper is adding rhymes to Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s “Crossroads” instrumental. Dubbed “Hood Legends,” the accompanying video is above.
Big Shaq Taps Busta Rhymes for “Mans Not Hot (Remix)”
Months after his skibbity-bak-skip-boom antics took the world by storm, Big Shaq is back with an official remix of the studio version of “Mans Not Hot.” After being on the receiving end of a few Diesel-sized shots from Shaquille O’Neal and Toronto’s ShaqIsDope, Mr. Dapaah recruits Busta Rhymes for another run. Check it out below—or don’t, the choice is yours.
