Tara grunted as she hefted a third box on top of her dolly, wiping sweat from her brow. "Whew...who needs to go to the gym when you're moving, hey?" She playfully smacked her friend Zach's arm as he carried another box from his truck.
"That's the third time you've made that joke, and it's not getting funnier, T." He still had a smile on his face, though, as he readjusted his grip on the box. Tara leveraged the hand truck so she could start pushing it into her new apartment building.
"Yeah, but I'm buying you dinner for helping, so suck it up or we're getting McDonald's."
"I will leave right now. That's a thing that will happen. I'll- hey! Hold the elevator please!" Zach stopped joking to look over Tara's shoulder and she finally paid attention to what was in front of her; one of the elevators was going up and the doors were starting to close. Whoever was inside moved and the doors jerked a little before sliding back open. The pair jogged up to the door and she carefully maneuvered the hand truck into the corner of the elevator and Zach stepped in after she stopped moving. "Floor six, please."
"Seven, actually!" Tara interjected, leaning closer to the button panel to make sure the right floor was pressed. "Thank you." She turned a kind smile to the tall, long-haired man against to opposing wall that waited for them to board.
