This is how the world ends.

The two of them; her fangs in his neck, his blood flowing in her veins.

The two of them; the crown on her head, the world at their feet.

The two of them; the bite of his kiss on her lips, the scrape of her nails branding his skin.

There is a ravenous beast living inside of him and it whispers: “One lifetime with her is not enough.” It howls: “More, more, more.”

There is a greedy monster lingering under her skin and it declares with heat: “I want to see it all. I want to see it all with you.”

All of it, with you.

There is this love in between the breaths they share which sets each day anew. There is a whole world out there, waiting for him, and he catches a glimpse each time he looks into her eyes.

And so, this is how they end; with champagne and blood on their tongues, almost sated, standing together at the dusk of the world.
