Totally had that race in the bag. I've only been watching the Kentucky Derby for little less than 20yrs and following horse racing for 15yrs. I've worked as a track rat at Tampa Bay downs and watched a few races.
Horse spook, jump, get tousled, and sometimes bump into one another. Sometimes jockeys do dumb illegal things (looking at you Preakness '05 between Scrappy T and Afleet Alex). And sometimes stuff happens and horses break bad and get pushed about (Belmont '08 with Big Brown)
Im not going to go into a big(ger) rant over this. If i had been asked to look at the objection, i would have not come to that decision. I would have aloud the victory to Maximum Security.
All the horses ran a great race.
Maximum Security just ran it better than everyone else.
