I think a lot of people dont understand the Space and Time aspects from Homestuck. It's ok, I also used to not get it. But what is it that confuses people about these aspects? Certain things are agreed on about them:
Space is creation and Time is destruction.
Space is beginnings and Time is endings.
Space is setting and Time is plot.
Space is visual art and Time is music.
Space is breadth and Time is fate.
But WHY are these things true? What is the throughline? What is the core of these aspects that makes them all of these things?
Space = Existence justifies existence
Time = Action justifies existence
Space is all about existence. It offers infinitely expansive choice, with no endgoal. The only goal of Space is to have fun and see what ideas you can create. It is existing just to exist, enjoying that for what it is.
Time is all about action. It's all the end-goals and accomplishments of life, and the limitation of choice into one specific outcome- fate. It is existing to get things done, to accomplish something meaningful.
You let Space rule your life, and you'll never get anything done, you won't make any progress. You let Time rule your life, and you'll never enjoy the smaller moments of peace.
(This also means that Time is Meat and Space is Candy, by the way.)
