by far the worst thing about the dan and phil fanbase is how they, like..........take these tiny normal comments that they make and twist them into evidence that they’re secretly dating. like phil says something about a weird shower in their hotel room and people are like!!!!!! clearly they shared the shower!!!!!!!!! or dan makes a comment relating Dab and Evan’s experiences to their own and people are all like BUT DAB AND EVAN ARE DATING SO YOU AND PHIL MUST BE TOO!! as if relationships and close friendships aren’t naturally comparable to each other in practically every single way????

like..........I get it to some extent? they are clearly VERY close. but the most likely scenario in all of this is that they are not in a relationship, and I can’t even imagine how much it must fuck with your head knowing that people are analysing your every move and theorising about your sexuality and feelings for your closest friend. it’s disrespectful (and pretty fetishistic but that’s a whole other issue)
