"mo'ne davis dominated in her team's opening game in the little league world series on friday, becoming the first girl to throw a shutout in llws history. davis' philadelphia team - the taney dragons - beat a tennessee team 4-0, and she struck out eight batters. 

davis is the 18th girl to play in the little league world series but the first to throw a shutout. she also threw a shutout in the mid-atlantic final win that sent her team to the llws. she was hitting 70 mph with her fastball and allowed just two hits."
