Keepers
Keepers maintain the oral tradition of the shire cats. They are master storytellers who entertain and advise using their knowledge of folklore and shire history. They work closely with the scribes, checking their stories against older recounting of the events to ensure the most accurate picture possible (which generally means the story is based on a truth, but has significant creative liberties).
Keepers often speak with the elders, learning new tales from them. They also spend time with the kittens, telling them stories to both educate and entertain. Keepers are the soul of the shire, maintaining both the legacy of their ancestors and the morale of their living kin.
