The black lines running down the leg represent the outside tangents of the leg. When everything but those lines has been turned away, you should (theoretically) have a nice, straight-tapered leg. /////////////////////////////////////////// I really like the shavings that drawknives make- smooth and... I’m not too worried about the shape for now, I’m just removing the bulk of what doesn’t need to be there. Also, it is way more fun to play on a shavehorse with a drawknife than it is to have wood chips sprayed into your face in front of a lathe. /////////////////////////////////////////// Planing the top of the little kwila console table. This wood planes beautifully, except that the shavings just crumble into soot and it looks like you work in a coal mine.
