This is what Jonathan Keevil had to say about the music from Bellflower:

Have you or do you think you'll ever play the score live one day ? I'd love too. Some of the songs might be a little tricky live, as they were solely composed in GarageBand. Playing more shows is definitely on my list of things to do.

Who choose the other music for the film ? Why did you choose those songs ? All of the editors contributed to the songs in the film. Evan, Joel, Vince, and myself. A lot of the stuff I put in was simply the music I was really into to at the time. Lykke Li, Chromatics, Ratatat, Santigold. Chromatics in particular as they have a cinematic tone, which made it a really easy fit.

Did you have to give any money to the record labels for having their songs in the film ? Yes.

What reaction did the various record labels have, when you asked them if you could have their songs in the film? Why did they not appear on the score ? It was a long and complicated process... everything is a lot harder without money, we had to call in a lot of favors and be persistant. But overall they were very accommodating once we were able to communicate our situation. Them appearing on the soundtrack was financially out of the question unfortunately. It would have been exciting to be on a record with some of my favorite artists. Next time.
