Honestly Mion being infected after over 100 years of being the perfect waifu for never killing anyone, it was simply chosen for fun. I swear it's hard to like Satoko, since she's doing it in the coldest way possible, not even Rika when she needed it was like that. And as a Mion and Keiimi fan I'm really sad with the way the anime is treating the twins, and leaving all the ship content behind. Since the ship is very developed in manga and games. 😔

it is interesting to see, as a trans person, as a nonbinary person, in a place where gender (presentation, expression) is getting more freedom and visibility, to be reading this story set further back with rigid concepts on gender rules.

the whole arc with mion wanting a doll, but being afraid of asking for it because she’s a tomboy, or worrying about the shift on keiichi’s end for treating her ‘like a girl’ when he’s treated her ‘like a boy’,

of mion wanting to be viewed as a girl regardless of how she acts, ‘i should’ve been born a boy’ to cover up her rejection when keiichi doesn’t give her the doll...

it’s interesting. I’m trying to think how this would play out these days (not in a strict place still reinforcing gender shit tho). a world where mion can be a tomboy and however ‘unfeminine’ she wants to be while still claiming her womanhood because she wants to be a girl and she wants to be seen as a girl and she deserves that.

in a world, like we see glimpsed in minagoroshi where keiichi just follows up with giving the doll to her like ‘i can gift guys too, so even if i’m treating you the way i would treat a guy i can still give you a gift and you shouldn’t reject that’
