continuing off this thread’s ending
He sat in front of the mirror, brushes and makeup spread out on the vanity’s table top. A photo of the man Keisuke was meant to make himself appear sat angled against the mirror’s edge. A nice shot of the old man. No pipes, no smiles. Every line of his face as it had been easily noticed for Keisuke to mimic.
Water trickled down from the ceiling. Wires sparked as wires dangled from the once functioning machinery. Keisuke found his limbs bound by those wires. Electricity coursed through his body, weakening him, burning him, preventing him from acting. Despite the pain, he could still see what transpired.
The Riders, multifaceted eyes alight with the power within their cybernetic bodies, stared down the lone figure on the dais. Great Leader, the man behind every organization including Keisuke’s own, stood tall. His lips curled in a sneer.
The Riders attacked, somehow overpowering the man he followed. Keisuke heard the sickening snaps of bones as each attack found their mark. It was impossible. Great Leader was stronger than all his enemies. Keisuke yelled soundlessly as he watched his Commander’s body fall.
Denial seeped into his bones as he slumped against the machinery. He willed Great Leader to move, to rise up and crush his enemies.
He laid still where he fell. Blood pooled around him. The Riders turned and fixed those devilish eyes on Keisuke.
His scream woke him from the dream. His eyes opened to darkness before they adjusted for the lack of light. His breath was ragged and shallow. He slowly sat up in his bed, covering his mouth with one hand. He had to calm his hammering heart. His heartbeat pounded in his ears.
Keisuke tried to ignore the small feeling of relief from watching Great Leader fall to G.O.D.’s enemies.
The thought he was only a tool came into his head more frequently in recent years. When he first had it, Keisuke had dismissed it. He was a valued member of G.O.D. An enforcer and executioner as Apollo Geist's right hand had been the majority of his life.
The kaizorg didn't understand why, then, the more he looked at his superior, the more he felt he was being used. He didn't understand the swell of rage that accompanied it either. The way his chest would contract and his breathing would become erratic confused him once the feelings passed. They would often disappear as soon as they arrived.
It wasn't until he looked in the mirror one day and touched the scar on his shoulder that he understood. There was a memory of a day that sprang in his mind so vividly: the aftermath of a hard battle so many years ago.
Keisuke had been beaten. He struggled to rise to his feet only for the victor to kick him back down. He saw the barrel of a gun pointed at his face and felt a foot pin him down.
He knew that gun, he realized. That was the Apollo Shot. Keisuke's face paled and he gasped as he felt the phantom pain of the bullet biting into his shoulder. He slapped a hand over the scar and buckled over the sink. He swallowed air as quickly as he could, trying to hold back the urge to vomit.
The Rider had been Geist's enemy. He'd been shot by the one person he trusted his life with. The man he had thought gave him a place among like people when he was so lost. He ran a hand through his hair and stood up on shaky knees.
Keisuke's first thought was that he needed to get away. He needed to learn more about what he was like before that memory. He couldn't let Geist know, but if he ran, he'd be hunted down. Chills went down his spine as he realized he'd be marked as a traitor for running.
Apollo Geist would hunt him down and finish the job from so long ago. Kill him first.
Keisuke stumbled back from the mirror and shook his head. What on earth was he thinking?
Keisuke awoke strapped to an operating table. The steel restraints were cold against his bare chest and arms. They were tight around his ankles. His shoulder and legs throbbed where the bullets had hit him. They still hadn't healed over. Not much time must have passed, he thought.
He turned his head as much as he could. G.O.D. scientists moved around him, some taking notes, others adjusting dials. "He's awake," said Apollo Geist directly behind his head.
He tilted his head back and looked up at the man. "Apollo Geist," he said.
Keisuke pushed against the restraints. Apollo Geist chuckled. He leaned over, placing two fingers directly against the bullet wound on the Rider's shoulder, pressing down. Keisuke tightened his jaw. His back arched as much as allowed. He held back a cry of pain.
"Keisuke," said Apollo. "Do you know why you're still alive?"
The kaizorg didn't answer him.
"It's because I saw a reason to keep you alive," he said.
Keisuke narrowed his eyes. A reason to keep him alive? He opened his mouth and closed it before he could ask what the man had in store for him. He was sure he didn't want to hear the answer.
Apollo grinned at the RIder's silence and gestured to the G.O.D. scientists.
Keisuke watched as one brought a device that looked like a helmet not unlike the one the Rider wore while transformed. It was black in its entirety. It shined beneath the bright lights. There were wires connected to the sides and Keisuke could only guess what the purpose of the helmet was.
Whatever it was for, he was sure it wasn't good.
He shook his head as the scientist approached. "No," he whispered and then said it again louder as the helmet covered his his head. He couldn't see through what should have been the visor.
The scientist worked around the helmet, making necessary adjustments on the device. When he stood straight, he nodded to Apollo Geist and ordered the helmet to be activated.
Keisuke's body tensed as sound and images assaulted him through the helmet's mechanisms. He curled and uncurled his hands. and strugged against his restraints. He found he couldn't close his eyes for more than a few seconds at a time. Everything flashed by too fast to process.
The onslaught disoriented him minutes after it started. His breathing became erratic. He wanted to get the helmet off, no, he needed, it off. He couldn't move his hands. His throat felt raw and he realized he'd been screaming. He couldn't even hear it over the deafening sound.
Apollo left the room as Keisuke screamed. He grinned as he left the scientists to their work. Their estimate was a few days wearing the helmet before he would be willing to be molded into Apollo's right hand. He hoped it would be a challenge forcing the Rider to his side.

((Goodness I want to expand the evil au a lot hahaha. i'mevilautrashbtw so if anyone's interested in doing a thread with evil!Keisuke feel free to like this and I could work on a starter.))
((Though if I’m going to be honest, gentarou and amazon would be at the top of Apollo Geist’s list of things Keisuke shouldn’t interact with.))
