Water trickled down from the ceiling. Wires sparked as wires dangled from the once functioning machinery. Keisuke found his limbs bound by those wires. Electricity coursed through his body, weakening him, burning him, preventing him from acting. Despite the pain, he could still see what transpired.
The Riders, multifaceted eyes alight with the power within their cybernetic bodies, stared down the lone figure on the dais. Great Leader, the man behind every organization including Keisuke’s own, stood tall. His lips curled in a sneer.
The Riders attacked, somehow overpowering the man he followed. Keisuke heard the sickening snaps of bones as each attack found their mark. It was impossible. Great Leader was stronger than all his enemies. Keisuke yelled soundlessly as he watched his Commander’s body fall.
Denial seeped into his bones as he slumped against the machinery. He willed Great Leader to move, to rise up and crush his enemies.
He laid still where he fell. Blood pooled around him. The Riders turned and fixed those devilish eyes on Keisuke.
His scream woke him from the dream. His eyes opened to darkness before they adjusted for the lack of light. His breath was ragged and shallow. He slowly sat up in his bed, covering his mouth with one hand. He had to calm his hammering heart. His heartbeat pounded in his ears.
Keisuke tried to ignore the small feeling of relief from watching Great Leader fall to G.O.D.’s enemies.
