Was a generally happy kid, loved to explore and play outside

Had a play sword that he took everywhere

When Krolia left to help the BOM she left Keith her knife, telling him it would keep him safe until she came back

She never did

At 3 Keith was without a mother

He was too young to understand why she left and thought he did something wrong

His dad became very depressed after she left and started to neglect Keith

One day he told Keith he was going for a walk

He never came back

At 8 Keith had no family

He became sad, lonely, and learned to push people away

He worked hard, kept to himself, and got by until he was able to get into the Garrison

Nobody knew he lived alone until he met Shiro

He slipped up in conversation, mentioning how he didn’t have any money for groceries

Shiro was so upset that this bright, talented, 14 year old boy was living on his own and immediately took him in

The Shiroganes treated him as if he was one of their own

He quickly became the best pilot in his class

Pushing everyone away except Shiro, he protected himself from ever losing anyone again

When Shiro was accepted for the Kerberos mission, he tried to be happy for him, congratulating him for achieving what he’d worked for all these years

The night before Shiro left, they sat on the roof looking at the stars, and Keith, feeling comfort in the darkness, opened up about how scared he was to be alone again while Shiro was gone

Everyone in his life always left, and now the person he considered a brother was leaving too

Shiro reassured him it was only temporary, that he’d be back soon with amazing stories of space

i hc keith as gay and trans ftm ! (he/him)

also autistic keith canon bc im autistic and i said so

i think keith would be heavy into literature like reading and writing but he didn’t learn to read properly until he was like 10

definitely had/has a special interest in space

probably owned a snake at one point

he can draw . like he has drawing skills and he 100% just doodled in his notebooks during classes. he’d come home with pen scribbles all up his arms. he’s more skilled at traditional art than digital art but he’s learning !! :3
