“Untitled (Elephant),” 1985, by Keith Haring. It was originally a pink papier-mâché elephant bought by Andy Warhol to use as a prop for a fashion exhibition at the Costume Institute at the Met. After the show, it went back to Warhol’s studio, where he asked Basquiat to paint it, but he never completed the project. Then Haring took on the project and this was the result. I wonder if there’s any pictures of the unfinished Basquiat version? #warhol #basquiat #haring #art #arthistory #keithharing #elephant #1980s (at The Andy Warhol Museum) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cn5XHe1sKgA/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
