I just wanted to point out this out- practically half of the fandom is fanoning the General Weblum Galra to be Keith’s secret twin sister on account she looks to young, almost as if she’s in the same age group as Keith… In retaliation of her being his mom.
and couldn’t be 100% false considering the fact they resemble each other at a remarkable degree.
-Particularly the jawline, parallelogram-like eye shape and even their noses. (Possibly their eyebrows too considering they’re making the same face in the two previous pictures)
1. However, Keith’s hypothetical age is sixteen - confirmed by Jeremy Shada (when he was talking about Lance’s age) and a few other members of the crew (when confronted about Shiro’s age). And how could it be that someone by the age of sixteen was inducted to be in one of- if not- THE top rank in the Galra Empire’s military ranks? AS A GENERAL?
– A General, being the highest rank in any military before being categorized depending on star rank ( one-star, two-star, three-star etc) –
2. Also, there are some minute things from “Belly of the Weblum” I should bring to life. As soon as Keith lands on the trapped plane, both General Weblum and him can see each other plainly- this enables the General to identify him immediately.
Immediately afterwards, Keith cuts away excess veins entrapping the glass. If you look closely, you can see the General turn towards Keith after he slices the last one.
It is a slight movement, but quite a few ideas can be concluded. Such as:
a) She immediately recognized Keith and was eager to get out and reunite.
— Her abrupt movement does suggest eagerness, especially since she doesn’t shy away from the blade of Keith’s sword. This means she’s focused and determined.
— But in order for her to recognize him, she would have to had known him when he was on Earth. And if they were twins, it wouldn’t have been possible for his sister to recognize him because they must have been separated practically at birth, since there has been no mentioning whatsoever about Keith having a biological sibling (besides Shiro, but even that’s not confirmed because Keith says “You’re like a brother to me” meaning they aren’t related in the literal sibling sense)
b) She was just ready to get out and kill this person who despite helped her- is an eye-witness to her location and could compromise her undercover job.
— Assuming that’s what she’s there for, the scaultrite crystals. It’s been overly heavily suggested Lotor is half Altean given his non-Galra characteristics and it can be hypothesized the scaultrite was for him.
— Or perhaps her, since she too has a few non-Galra characteristics and Lotor’s generals are all exclusively half-Galra.
c) She just wanted to get out.
— This one is the most likely, if one doesn’t believe this was an eerie coincidence
3. When Keith offers the General help out of the ship, she willingly takes it. Her movements are also smooth and slow, as if she didn’t think about attacking and she didn’t want to- meaning 2,b) is out.
Even when, Keith recognizes the Galra seal on her armor and disarms her, she doesn’t fight back in order to regain her weapon. In fact, she stumbles- as if being taken by surprise. But even then- she doesn’t respond.
This means a few things
a) She did’t want to harm her son, nor give away her identity when she realizes she still must fulfill Lotor’s orders. And from witnesses his reaction to her being gala, she realized it wasn’t the proper place or time.
b) She’s grateful that he saved her life by just popping open the door.
Both 3,a) and 3,b) can be related in the sense it was safe to stick with him since Keith clearly was also looking for scaultrite.
4. This scene is very crucial! When Keith and the General are wiped out, some bad bacteria come into Keith’s direction and immediately she grasps her weapon from Keith with vigorous force and quickly shoots the bacteria before Keith even noticed them. Not to mention is takes seconds for her to get into shooting position.
Everything about this scene condones a primary thing- defensive instincts
a) mother’s instinct
— She saw Keith in trouble only seconds before he did and in the short amount of time she managed to do this maneuver seemed instinctual.
b) excellent training
— But even this could lead up to enhance motherly instincts
5. Finally, I wanted to theorize about a scene from a Season 3 trailer
This scene shows evidence above all else that the General and Keith will have a meeting and possibly introduction finally face to face.
The setting, I’m not 100% sure about, but from the jagged column and red lighting, I can only assume Lotor/Zarkon’s castle.
Despite the two clearly being in battle, from Keith’s stance- it seems as if he’s charging and fighting the General. While, staying low and catching Keith’s (Shiro’s) bayard with her gun- seemingly in a defensive nature.
— Either way- it looks to be the General is fighting defense because she doesn’t want to hurt Keith. And, given the hypothetical setting of it being Lotor’s ship, Keith is probably there to rescue Shiro and in the process encountered the General and recognized her uniform. With Keith being Keith, he most likely struck first- yet the General had np intention of fighting Keith… probably because he’s her son.
All in all, it seems to me it’s more realistic given the General’s behavior in the Weblum that if she had any form of recognition, it couldn’t have made her Keith’s sister. Especially if they’re the same age- that would render her a prodigy beyond even Keith’s abilities.
