Keith would often be Allura’s escort to political events. At first, it was because he was the black Paladin and she was the princess so… leader goals.. but eventually they enjoy being each other’s escorts and would prefer each other.

Keith and Romelle always sit next to each other during meals because some textures Bad but they usually have opposite sensory needs so they just kinda.. mix and match their meals

Growing up, Keith got so used to living in a small space - with shared rooms in the home, his dorm at the garrison, and even back at the shack with his dad - that when he finally moves in with Shiro and Adam and actually gets enough space for himself, he just... doesn't know what to do with it.

The bedroom they've given him seems to stretch on forever. He can stand in the middle of it, extend his arms out to the sides and spin around in careless circles without worrying about his fingers so much as brushing the walls on either side. If he claps, the sound echoes around the room, and Keith can't tell if it's too loud or too quiet.

It's... a lot. Not that Keith has never wished for a larger room of his own - hell, sometimes it was all he could think about - but now that he has it, he begins to realise that he has no clue where to begin in fitting himself into a space so big. It feels foreign. Empty. Keith never thought he'd miss his cramped room at the home, where he'd stayed with four other boys and had to keep all of his belongings clutched close to his chest or hidden away in little shoe boxes, but he would almost rather have the walls stifle him than feel what he feels looking around at this space so vast and bare.

This is his, now. Everything that had ever been his had been pocketable, stuffed into corners and tucked away in small spaces. And everywhere he's ever called his had been somewhere he could curl up and have the walls hug him close. How, after that, was he supposed to make a space like this feel like his?

Eventually, though, over time, Keith manages. He buys more posters and a pride flag, and Shiro gets him these cute little glow in the dark stars to stick on his ceiling. He paints the walls a deep red colour and fills his drawers with clothes, empty notebooks and other such things that he buys or is gifted or just picks up here and there. He gets a bookshelf, some photographs and even a lava lamp, for some reason. It feels... cozy. It might even start to feel like home.

But even so, old habits die hard, he supposes. Because even now, with all the space in the world at his disposal, his most prized possessions are kept in little worn-out shoeboxes, a couple tucked under his bed and another hidden at the bottom of his wardrobe. And it still isn't uncommon for Shiro or Adam to find Keith curled up on the floor of that wardrobe, door closed, noise cancelling headphones over his ears, with his knife or hippo plush clutched close to his chest as he craves the feeling of the walls hugging him so tight he can barely breathe.
