Why we think balance and baby position is important not perse to achieve a vbac as many have a vbac without. We want you to have the best birth possible and ideally a short one ;-) Having balance, space and an ideal positioned baby most of the time brings about an easier and shorter birth with little need for interventions. There are 8 head down positions, eventhough these can be determined by feel often the head position can be difficicult to assess. Creating balance and space will help baby tuck its chin and center. On the 1st slide you see how an imbalanced pelvis affects space available. You can also see the fetal head moulding On slide 2 you see an imbalanced pelvis, and different degreea of chin tucking * ⚠️On slide 3 a baby with a face presentation * ⚠️On slide 4 a baby with a brow presentation Any baby who was born with a so called "malposition", birth with intervention like vaccuum/forceps or a cesarean should see an osteopath/chiropractor as soon as possible after birth. The most desirable position for the baby in birth is when the baby’s head is down, with the back of the head (occiput) and spine facing the mother’s front left side. During birth the baby’s body rotates, aligning the back of baby's head with the mother’s symphysis pubis. Then the baby’s head emerges. Once the head is out, the shoulders continue to rotate so they, too, can fit through the mother’s pelvis. If the baby’s back of the head is facing the mother’s right side, in order for the head to get into the most desirable position, the baby must do a “long turn” in the clockwise direction within the mother’s entire pelvis to arrive at her symphysis pubis. Frequently, the baby will stall with his occiput up against the mother’s sacrum. This is called an occiput posterior position. It may lead to a longer and more difficult labour and delivery, or even to interventions that prevent a natural birth from happening #vbac #keizersnede #vaginalebevallingnakeizersnede #inleiden #induction #natuurlijkbevallen #naturalbirth #watergeboorte #waterbirth https://www.instagram.com/p/CPRLbvjgxaI/?utm_medium=tumblr
