A statement in circulation has it that the Governor of Lagos State Babajide Sanwo-Olu has warned the LASTMA Officials not to engage in the arrest of any motorcycle either private or commercial. He said; "…Henceforth no LASTMA Officials should arrests any motorist, either commercial or private. The duty of LASTMA is to manage traffic and not to arrest anyone. I have heard alot of complaint, any Officials that violate the rule of his work, will be severely dealt with."
