Ending a show...
I am two and a half episodes from ending Oz and I don't want to. Never has a show made me wish I could continue watching it. The toxic relationship that is Beecher and Keller make it hard to end knowing they won't have a happy ever after. It reminds me of "Roman Holiday" where they set up the hopes of a happy ending but it is squashed by one side. In Oz Beecher is Princess Ann while Keller is the suave Joe Bradly. Keller knows their relationship isn't approved by society yet knows that he is in love. While Beecher is quick to go back to the heteronormative society that was the 90s. Even though there was a gay culture it was not a norm as it becoming with each day. It's a relationship we all want to a certain degree, where a person loves you so much that they would do whatever it took to be with them. With Keller's pending death I hesitate to kill this fantasy in my head that they are living happy together somewhere. Although they are both murderers the fact that so many people have loved them for so long is the result of great writing. I hope this show can be rebooted soon by the original writer and developmental team.
