The machine seems to be able to extract energy so I think of anything Karolina would be like a jumbo sized meal. As for Jonah I think he is a typical abuser. He “loved” her as long she went along with his desires. The minute she turned him down and chose her friends he was ready to kill her.But we did saw with Alex’s dad that the machine could extract only part of the energy so perhaps they will use this as a way to torture Karolina.
