I hope so! Although, here in MD, we hear absolutely nothing about anyone other than the GOP or Dems. And even though we have a higher number of registered Republicans, Democrats always take our state (hooray for the second most gerrymandered district in the country). It’s just annoying that people rarely get to hear other opinions besides the big two. If I thought a complete overhaul of the system would be affective I would endorse that, but unfortunately people ruin everything.
I’ve been upset lately that there’s no way that my district rep is going to lose reelection this year because of gerrymandering in my district! lol. I haven’t even seen any ads or heard anything about his reelection campaign. That’s how safe his seat is. And he never does anything good -___- (well, by my count lol). Historically, this district keeps reps for decades, which is really irritating. I wish there were term limits for senators and congresspeople. They get stale after a while and we need fresh faces in the legislature.
I used to think maybe we should reevaluate and see how a parliamentary system would do, but then I watched what happened in the UK when Cameron’s party won with only like 30% of the vote because the other votes were split among so many different parties.
