Okay so 9x03 Chicago Fire
First and foremost, one of the themes in this episode is “communication” or lack thereof.
WHY DOES NOONE TALK TO EACH OTHER HONESTLY?!
Severide should have just told Stella there’s some rumours going round about her lieutenants test position and it would be best if he takes a step back for now but he promises, at home, he’ll answer questions.
OR for him to not give a fuck about the rumours cuz he believes in Stella and the fact that she could whip all those randos asses on the test blindfolded even WITH or WITHOUT his help!
BUT NOOOOOO he ends up ignoring her and takes a step back! DUDE you promised her that you’ll try to be the person she deserves, and Stella does not deserve you doing a 180 on her!!
I said that if ANYTHING happens to my Stellaride comfort ship, I’ll throw hands, so Derek, writers I’m giving you 2 more eps to sort this shit out so Kelly can go back to being the loving, communicative boyfriend he matured to be!
And DO NOT even get me STARTED on Brettsey! WHY COULDNT MATT SAY TO SYLVIE EXACTLY WHAT HE TOLD KELLY?!
SEEIOUSLY??? Why didn’t you tell her that she’s the only one you think about and Gabby isn’t even in your mind/life anymore?!!
They were both distracted that whole episode! Sylvie never had anyone fight for her so Matt better get a game plan ready to get his girl back!
Sylvie was honest throughout the episode with how she felt, where her head was at and what she feels she wants but Matt (the big dummy) just accepted it and wasn’t like “I understand why you feel this way but I feel like you and I are worth fighting for.” Or some romantic shit like that ffs!!
Even Mackey was onto that shit this episode! Giving Brett some smash therapy, she can see in her beautiful green eyes the chemistry between Casey and Brett!!
And I hope when they pair Gallo and Mackey together, it’s just gna be them two adorable little puppies trying to be happy and trying to make the whole house happy and doing some cute couple partner in crime scheming in the house or like match making or some cute young couple stuff!
And Boden with Kylie! Like I get he was trying to make her comfortable and happy but yo, all you had to say was “thanks for the thought but I really do need my chair as I’m practically doing paperwork and calls 24/7 and need to sit down” like Kylie is a mature teenager, she would have been like “ah okay cool, no worries, let me go get your chair back, my bad” instead of Boden being a moody grizzly bear behind her back all episode.
My favourite men; Kelly, Matt and Boden were big dummies this episode.
The only MVP was Herrmann for what he did for Mouch- believing in him and going out of his way to figure out the anomaly with the truck aerial operation.
Anywayyyyyys so yeah those are my overall thoughts on the episode. I’ll probably need to rewatch a couple more times to get a conclusive feeling for it but I think this episode should be renamed to “3 big dummies and 1 MVP” lmao
