Views from my run today 👍🏼👟
I’ve been absent from tumblr for a while (I scroll daily, but post less frequently). So here are a few updates: + regarding my last post about bf on Friday nights - I think we FINALLY have an understanding. He apologized profusely so there’s that. + I’ve been running a lot. It’s nice. Wore a hat on a run for the first time. Not sure if I’m a fan but need to figure out what to do when it’s sunny (Seattle problems. Lol). I also got a hydration vest and I LOVE it. Worth the money after trying out a few different things that didn’t work for me (thanks again @macaristic for the belt!) + my cats are such a comfort after long days. Love lounging with them on the living room floor in the evenings. That’s about it. In the homestretch for school. We get out on June 22nd. Twin sis is going to have her second baby any day now so I’m waiting for the word then flying out there! Can’t wait!!! Happy Tuesday, tumblr peeps.
193.5
the number of miles I’ve run so far this year :D
I’m telling tumblr because no one else in my “real life” gives a crap about my running goals.
maybe no one on tumblr does either? lol
anyway. I would’ve been over 200 but I’ve had a rough past two weeks and did the best I could.
Hope you’re all having a lovely weekend.
xo
Longest run today! My Time isn’t that great but I was on the struggle bus this entire run. I got lost and then had to run a million hills and my stomach was gross since I woke up this morning. It wasn’t very enjoyable but holy moley I feel great afterward and look at this view.
Got myself some new running shoes! According to my half marathon plan, I’m supposed to run 7miles today. I tried to run this afternoon and was exhausted after 3.5 miles. Came home to eat and rest and try again this evening to finish the other 3.5 miles. Does this ever happen to other runners where you have to split your distance to get it done? Or where you just have ZERO energy? How do you deal? I’m a new runner so any tips are always welcome. I get so down on myself and disappointed when things don’t go 100% as planned. Also, I’ve been mostly running on a treadmill, but I’m going to start transitioning to running outside. I’m scared to. I don’t like the idea of running alone or not having a route... but I am going to just go for it. Thanks for listening to my rambles about running!
“A race?” says the asthmatic, wheezing.
I signed up for a race! And regardless of the current state of my lungs (not great), I am really excited about it. It’s the REI Run Series 5K at Rodeo Beach in the Marin Headlands. Apparently, it’s supposed to be gorgeous, and I haven’t run a race in forever. My body could use the activity, that’s fordamnsure. #ageoutproblems
I have a training schedule all planned out, which starts tomorrow with a 1.5 mile run. The distance should be fine--1.5′s are like little baby fun runs--but it’s been hot hot hot here, and my neighborhood is not super ideal for any kind of distance running. I think it’s time to check out some local parks, places near my work, and if I can sneak it, the tracks before or after I teach my high school kids.
Days to race: 40
Days into training: currently eating a large bowl of pasta. Carb loading? Eh? That counts, right?
