The real-time data disconnect: A survey of reality vs. perception
Data-centric is a term that can be used to describe today’s business climate. Businesses use data from a variety of sources: social media, news, financial markets, business trends, system usage statistics, and from a gaggle of connected “things”. Where Are My Keys??
No one likes to go into surgery or be in at hospital and nothing is worse than being put under for surgery and putting all of your trust into a Doctor. But they are all professionals and would never put you at risk...so I had to make a card for that occasion. A card to ease someone who is anxious about going into surgery:
So for this card I used my CRICUT EXPLORE and the MEDICAL PALZ FILE from Scrappy Dew. I found an amazing paper pack by DCWV called MODERN MEADOW that matched the color of the scrubs just perfect. I used this paper and my favorite INK with DAUBERS. For his mask i used one of y favorite new materials DCWV GUAZE PAPER.
I used 3D FOAM DOTS to raise up the labels under the Dr. and the Dr. himself form the card.
For the Dr. glasses I used SILVER MARKERS to give his glasses the extra shine that he will need to operate. I also used this on his operating knife. Don't worry I also sterilized it. for his shoes I used INK with DAUBERS. I also took the CRICUT EXPLORE PENS and used the fine point teal pen and made shoelaces on his shoes. For the Dot in his eyes I use a WHITE PEN versus cutting it out in white paper which is very very small.
Using my Design Space Subscription I found this amazing label to use for my sentiment from the label group. Using the CRICUT EXPLORE PENS and CRICUT EXPLORE I used the amazing write than cut feature to make this cute and funny sentiment
"Surgery Went Great Now Where Are My Keys?"

China Doll Beauty
Hi Everyone!! Ken here with Ken's Kreations. So the funny thing about today's project was all based around a paper pad. You know when you go to your favorite craft store and a new paper pad is in stock and you just have to HAVE it. Well I found that paper pad, however due to it's specific theme, I do not find a day to day use for this beautiful paper. So I challenged myself to create something and lucky for me ScrappyDew had the perfect file for me. Here is What I came up with:
So this whole project was based around the DCWV FAR EAST PAPER STACK. I feel in love with this paper stack as soon as I saw it. However as I said it was hard for me to find use for this elegant paper in my everyday use. Fortunately for me Scrappy Dew had the perfect file for this paper stack. The file is called KONNICHIWA DOLLS. It features 3 beautiful dolls, one holding an umbrella. Well I knew this would be the base for my card. I cut the doll using my CRICUT EXPLORE at 5.5 inches tall. I know I sound like a broken record, but anytime I can reduce my time spending on the "work" behind my project I will. That is why I turn to my CRICUT EXPLORE so much when working with layered images since it takes the work out of the equation for me. I inked all my edges using DEW DROP INK and one of my favorite tools, INK DAUBERS. I used the PAGODA CARTRIDGE for the Japanese folding screen and the beauty sentiment.
I wanted to make sure that the screen actually folded so I used 3D FOAM DOTS to raise the middle of the screen up to give the look that the screen was folded in towards the china doll. I also took 3D FOAM DOTS to raise the "BEAUTY" sentiment.
One of the final touches I made was to take BLACK AND WHITE ENAMEL ACCENTS to highlight the tree on the screen and the letters on "Beauty"
Thanks for taking a look at today's keratin. Come back tomorrow to see what Kreation I come up with next.
Ken

You Color My World
Hey Everyone! Ken here with Ken's Kreations and I am so excited to share my project with you today and how easily you can make one for that special someone in your life. I think this project would be a perfect gift for Father's Day, especially if you have little ones. Below I will share step-by-step instructions and photos of this project. I have seen this project take on many different designs. Here is my version:
So I am sure you have seen these Crayola Crayon art projects before. However I was shocked to see how creative people get with this projects. Take look HERE.Well I made my piece of art for an amazing mentor in my life who has helped me tremendously over the past few months. I wanted to make her something to let her know that she knew "You Color My World". At the bottom of this post you will see a full list of all the supplies you will need and links for this project. I used theYOU COLOR MY WORLD FILE for the words and my amazing CRICUT EXPLORE. This machine is no longer just used for making cards. I have said it before, this machine takes all the guessing work out of the cut! I love it for this! Here are the Step-By-Step Instructions: Starting with a 11 X 14 Canvas, lay out crayons in the color order you want. I wanted to go with a Rainbow look so I choose to buy the 64 Pack of Crayola's and laid them out in the color order I wanted from left to right on the canvas.
Using my Hot Glue Gun, I put a thin strip along the base of the crayon. Make sure if you glue gun has settings, it is on the middle het setting since at this point you do not want to melt the crayon.
Lay the crayons along the top of the canvas one by one.
Here is what mine looked like before applying heat to the project.
Now below you will see a section I blocked off with Blue Vinyl. I did this because under my saying I wanted have less of the crayon wax coming through to give the illusion that the words stopped some of the wax from coming through. You do not have to do this if you wanted a different result. Now in the traditional instructions it says to use a hair dryer. However I felt a Heat Embosser gave me better control of where I wanted the heat to be applied to.
Starting form the left I heated the crayons until they started to run. You can go slow or fast to the right. If you go slower you will get the look of the colors mixing. If you go at a faster pace it will keep the colors separate from each other. I wanted my colors to mix so I went pretty slow. Now depending on how much wax you want to come down depends on how high you want to heat the crayons. The higher up the crayon you go the more wax will come out. You can visually seen where I actually put the heat at on the crayons.
Using the YOU COLOR MY WORLD FILE and amazing CRICUT EXPLORE, I cut the image at 11.5 inches long.
I wanted to give a definition between the blue layer and the white/black base layer. One trick I have picked up from another Scrappy Dew designer is to use Craft Foam Sheets to raise up my images versus the traditional foam squares. This is a HUGE cost saver since this option is much cheaper. The other nice thing is these are already peel and stick and they can be matched the color of the project you are working on.
Since only one side is adhesive I still had to use my Scotch ATG to adhere the backing.
For the top layer of the YOU COLOR MY WORLD FILE, I used one of my favorite craft tools, the Xyron X Sticker Maker. Before taking the top sticker off I use a pen to go around the edges for a nice smooth transfer of tape to product.
Now it was time to get the saying onto my art project. For this I used another cost saving trick. When I use 3D Foam Circles I am left with all of the outer edges. I always cut this up to use on larger surface areas.
I wanted to give the wording a "Waxed Crayon" look. So I used my STUDIO paints in the following colors: Landscape Green, Dash of Red, Dab of Yellow and Modern Red. In my opinion the Modern Red had more of an orange look to it, and that is why I used it for the orange set of letters.
Here is a close up of the Wording on the art project.
Here is the finished project!!
I had a blast making this fun project. Just think of all the possibilities you can do with this project. You could have you kiddos pick out the colors and then take some vinyl and cut out their names or a silhouette of them, This would create a very personalized gift for that amazing person in you life. Graduation Frame
Hey Everyone! Ken here with another Kreation. This project is near and dear to my heart. This is for my niece who is graduating from East Valley High School in the next few weeks. She sent two pictures with her graduation announcement and I though what a great excuse to make a frame! For this project I used both my Silhouette Cameo, Cricut Explore and the amazing Scrap Factory Doll Builder.
For this Frame I used the amazing Scrap Factory Doll Builder for the Graduation Doll and the Class of 2014 title. I received both of the pictures from my niece in her graduation announcement. I took these photos and matted them using designs from the Cricut Cartridge, Small Talk Frames & Tags.
They recently just release the Graduation Expansion Pack for the Scrap Factory Doll Builder. In the Graduation Expansion Pack you will get One Boy and One Girl Graduation Outfit, a Diploma,GraduationTitle, & Two Hairstyles (one boy & one girl). This expansion pack will work with all outfits/hair styles from ScrapFactory Base Set, Diva Set, & Seasons Set. I imported my doll into Cricut Explore Design Space and using their grid system cut her at 5 inches.
The Graduation Title comes with the Graduation Expansion Pack. I imported the sentiment into Cricut Explore Design Space and using their grid system cut her at 3 inches. I used Crystal Stickles on the "Class of 2014" to give it some sparkle and to draw your attention to it. I took embroidery string in green and white and glued them under a silver brad to make the tassel.
I wanted to incorporate her school mascot and name into frame. I went onto Google images and looked for her school and found their crest. I imported this using my Designer Edition Software and cut it with my Silhouette Cameo. I decided to use the Trace and Detach option on their logo. Then using my favorite feature of the Silhouette Cameo and proceed to Print and Cut the image.

Angel Frame
Hey Everyone! Ken here with Ken's Kreation's. Well I hope all of the mom's out their had a wonderful Mother's Day. Mother's Day has turned into a tough day since I lost both my Mother and Stepmother at a young age. I was 24 when my Mother passed and then 4 years later I lost my step-mother. This year instead of struggling with the day, I turned to my craft room and found a way to honor them instead. Here is my dedication to all of the people we have lost:
I made this frame using the Scrappy Dew File LITTLE ANGELS. This is a great set that features a variety of angels on clouds. This was a perfect set for the theme of the project. I started with a craft board that I found at home depot. This wood craft board measures two feet long and was 1.28, which is much better than what I would have paid at Hobby Lobby. Then using the LITTLE ANGELS in my Silhouette Studio Software i build the angel from the base up using the SVG files. Once i had the doll constructed as I like, using my Silhouette Cameo's print and cut feature, I printed the angel at 4.5 inches on the SQUARE 1 PRINTABLE FABRIC.
I found a curly font that I liked and typed it into my Silhouette Studio Software. When I type I type the font out and then using the corners, I either make my font smaller and larger depending on the project I am using. After i found the size of the font I liked, I used the offset feature at .05 and made the base of the letters. I cut my sentiment on WHITE VINYL and the shadow on DARK BLUE. Here is the link to the "curly fonts" on dafont.comCURLY FONTS CATEGORY
For the clouds I used one of my favorite Silhouette Materials. I cut out the clouds that come with the LITTLE ANGEL set and cut them on Silhouette's DOUBLE SIDED ADHESIVE MATERIAL. I love this material since both sides are sticky I was able to cut the clouds, peel away the yellow film and stick it down on my board. Then once I had all the clouds down I peeled off the white film and sprinkled Silhouette WHITE GLITTER,, Martha Stewart TINSEL GLITTER and Martha Stewart CHUNKY GLITTER all over the clouds until covered. I finished the angel off with some Stickles GOLDEN ROD for her halo.
This was a super fast and easy project and it helped me honor my Mom's on Mothers Day even though they are not here with my in this physical form.

Magical Memories Frame
A gift I made for my Sister-In-Law:
So my Sister-In-Law and her family have been to Disneyland a total of 3 times. On the last trip, Carsland was finally open. Because this park is so beautiful at night with all the neon lights they took a perfect family picture. This was the photo I choose to use for this frame. This also gave me the perfect opportunity to use the Magical Memories and Royalty Palz file from Scrappy Dew.
I used my Cricut Explore to cut out all the elements for the frame which included the 4 characters and Magical Memories sentiment are from the Magical Memories and the castle from Royalty Palz set. The characters are cut between 4.25 and 4.75 inches in design space. The castle was cut at 35 inches.
