Ken Lambert, {2013} Reckoning 3
LECTURE 7: MEET THE BEATLES (PART 2): In November 2021, the childhood home of George Harrison – “a modest, three-bedroom house near Liverpool,” as Smithsonian magazine described it – went up for auction. Unlike 251 Menlove Avenue (Mendips) and 20 Forthlin Road, George Harrison’s childhood home at 25 Upton Green in Speke was not bought by the National Trust for preservation. Luckily, the story ends happily. The home was purchased by Beatles fan Ken Lambert, an American who resides in New Hampshire, and he is in the process of restoring and preserving it. Lambert decided that purchasing the home was “truly unique opportunity to own the property where George spent his formative years and that played an important part in helping The Beatles flourish.” He opened the house as an AIRBNB and house museum. This is a wonderful interview with Lambert -- check it out if you get a chance!
