On November 24, 1985, the second Ewoks TV Special "Battle for Endor" aired. The TV movie won an Emmy for Outstanding Special Visual Effects and was nominated for Emmys for Oustanding Children's Program and Oustanding Sound Mixing for a Miniseries or a Special. Warwick Davis returned as Wicket, Aubree Miller as Cindel and (briefly) Eric Walker as Mace. Wilford Brimley joined the central cast as Noa. The Nightsisters introduced in this would show up again years later in the Star Wars animated series The Clone Wars. The pack animals the Blurrgs from this movie would also appear in the Clone Wars series as well as the live action series The Mandalorian. ("Ewoks: The Battle for Endor", Star Wars TV Event)

Ewoks: The Battle for Endor (1985)

My rating: 6/10

Seems like an odd decision to kill off every human character except the aggressively cutesy little girl, but on the other hand, it's a very George Lucas thing to do. This is fine, I guess, it makes absolutely no sense in the greater context of the Star Wars movies and some of the effects are kind of embarrassing for ILM, but it has a narrative and characters and is quite watchable.

By the way, was anyone else incredibly distracted by how much the main theme sounded like a sound-alike of the Star Trek TOS theme?
