lol that kid deleted his post attacking Kenny. He also posted another angry rant, and declared Phonathoners "the most smug fuckers ever," and accused us all of being rich white kids. Clearly he doesn't know that I have negative dollars in my checking account and a $1000 credit card bill from textbooks that I can't pay, and more loans than I want to think about after graduation. But that doesn't mean I'm not proud to be a Manager at Phonathon, raising funds for fellow students like myself, who wouldn't be able to make Loyola work without help from alumni.
Don't get me wrong, I agree that the cost of education in the country is out of control, and don't even get me STARTED on the textbook industry. But I know that Loyola isn't directly to blame. And I mean I don't go to any of the sporting events either, but that doesn't mean that I'm not grateful for my education. Because being at this school is the experience of a lifetime, and it's going to help me get a great job.
I'd like to know how much that kid gets in financial aid. I can't imagine why anyone would be ungrateful for help, even if it is only a few thousand dollars. But his solution was to make this a race issue rather than listen to my facts. NEWSFLASH: I'm a social work student. All I DO is work with minorities. I probably know more about it that he does. Additionally, AS a social work student, I know I'm not going to be rich. I've never been rich. And I'll probably spend my life making a small social worker salary from working with minorities, and using it to pay off my loans. But that's a path I chose, because I think there's more to life than money, and Loyola is helping me to do that.
I just think it's sad when people gain gratification from tearing other people down on the internet. This kid doesn't know anything about me. And of course I don't know anything about him. But while he's attacking me as a person, I am merely advocating for my school and correcting his facts. I think there's a difference.
KENNY IS LOOKING AT PORN IN MY LIVING ROOM AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO HELP.
Maggie: What IS skillet cookie?
Erin:

Maggie: Like is it just a cookie you cook in a skillet?
Erin:
Maggie:
Erin:
Maggie: It's so much more than that, isn't it?
Erin: [nods]
Kenny: Why are we doing this? We didn't get dumped.
Kenny's phone is at 1% battery.
Kenny: I AM the one percent.
Kenny: [Puts hand on Erin's leg]
Kenny: ...Is this third base yet?
